No way I am putting money on Calderwood. She always crumbles when she gets hit. And Andrade is a high volume fighter.

I'm on Overeem here. Do you think Reem will take Stipe down and pepper him with some GNP? I think Reem has to be unpredictable. If he can secure a couple takedowns and keep Stipe guessing. Thus keeping his arms lower to prevent takedowns. He may just eventually find his mark. I think Reem will do just this. He knows this is the biggest fight of his career and must win at all costs. Jackson is great at coming up with gameplans. I think this is the plan. Put Stipe on his back a few times. Make Stipe lower his hands.

I dont really see this happening. When has reem ever fought like this? Reem is a kickboxer first. I think he will stay at range teep....do his thing.

What about when he fought Mir? I remember him in guard grinding on him a bit. I definitely think it's a possibility. If you don't see it happening hopefully Stipe doesn't see it happening and gets caught off guard.

this card has so many even match ups I couldn't pick many finishes. Had to go with decisions here.

I was looking at that tavares line and then remembered he is 1-3 in his last 4

Usada effect?

No I don't think so. Romero beat him but that's to be expected with his wrestling and Tavares' lack of power. Tavares got taken down a lot but outside of that fight he has proven to be basically impossible to take down. He also got up every time Romero took him down pretty easily. He was all over Boestsch including over powering him easily in the clinch but got clipped. He beat Nate up for three rounds and then got caught by Whittaker twice with the left hook real early. Chin issue yes probably, USADA effect I don't think so.

He should school Caio i think this is a pretty good line now it's at -170. I was hoping for +100 but as soon as i watched tape i said no chance will be -200. If Boetsch didn't catch him (i know that sounds crazy as Boestsch did catch him but Tavares wins that fight 8/10 imo) he would be a heavy fav here imo. The only way Caio wins is if he catches him early with one of his winging bombs. I don't think Caio is particularly powerful tho. He KO'd Trevor Smith but who doesn't? And i actually think the KO was from hammerfists to the back of the head. He KO'd Zach with a bodyshot from a punch i don't think i've ever seen that in mma before and that is all due to perfect placement and Zach breathing out as it landed highly unlikely that happens again. Tavares' tdd is elite and Caio's takedowns are awful. Tavares actually mixes in takedowns and they aren't bad. Caio is terrible off his back Vemola was battering him until he gassed and Samman sub'd him when Caio tried to get up. I expect Tavares to keep this standing where he has a clear advantage but i wouldn't be surprised to see him take Caio down as well especially when Caio gets tired which happens every fight. Tavares' performance against Larkin was outstanding.

I'm very happy to take Tavares here but if you're the type that hedges I'd go with Caio KO r1.

i think Gall probably destroys CM Punk. But there's no way I will bet more than a unit here i think it's pretty crazy to be going 8 units deep on a r1 prop when Gall has only had two fights himself. Good luck but very risky imo. You are betting almost blind.

always crumbles? i must have missed something.. she did just fine vs Val and Casey. i can see why some might bet Andrade but i have no clue how some of you acting like its almost a lock? her best win is a split vs Pennington

You're making no sense. The fight against Val is irrelevant when breaking down this fight because it was at 125, and she wasn't even hit clean by her. Also, Andrade's fights at 135 are irrelevant too because she was way too small for the weight class.

JoJo has visibly not taken punches well in multiple fights. She was in big trouble against Casey and was throwing teeps while continually getting rocked by punches, rewatch it. If she gets hit like that by Andrade she's fucked. She has reacted badly to being punched in multiple fights and has bad striking defense.

No one's acting like it's a lock either.

it was two 115 fighters fighting at 125 and Val had just put up a decent fight vs the 115 champ.. it was also jojo's first fight since moving to tristar and i thought she showed some improvements in all areas even striking defence. so i dont get how this fight can be irrelevant?

i agree that JOJO have shown poor striking defence and Casey cought her and swarmed her in the opening minute but it was not like she was close to being finished.

You could look at it like that, or you could look at it like she was fighting at her natural weight class against an older fighter (who's lost to Roxanne Modafierri) who was coming off a 5 round beating. It was just a weird fight anyway, I put no stock into JoJo for it.

Mir has a much better guard and much worse wrestling than Stipe.

Overeem could catch Stipe completely napping and put him on his back with a trip from the clinch or something, but otherwise very doubtful.

ya lets just agree to disagree :D i really have no strong lean either way in this fight..

Damn people are aggressive here..
My take on Andrade vs Calderwood: Really like Andrade here, like 5u:ish. She is the female division's Wanderlei/Lineker. Really has finishing potential, ok takedown defence although not needed here, own takedowns quite okay. Grappling wise really doesn't have much to give.
Only issue which worries me here is her tendency to dip her head low as goes towards brawling her opponent. She's done that in all her last four matches. JOJO has nice knees and occasionally nice 12to6 elbows. Could end up like Latifi last week end (-5u) :/ Calderwood hasn't impressed, and hard time imagining her ever been a world champion and multiple time European champion in MT. Happen to follow female MT quite a lot, and she completely lacks striking defense, curls up & turns her back as she gets hit. For her defense, her only loss was against Moroz, and something was really going against her. She looked like a zombie in the cage, must have been sick/ really bad weight cut? Other thing thing that worries a bit is her Tristar camp, have they managed to improve on the striking defense..

I don't know how the long layoff will affect Tavares and Mccall

I think tavares needed a layoff i think it will be good for him.

Do any Brits know about Matchbook? I want to place a bet but it's the euro symbol. Can i not bet in £? How does the euro conversion rate work if not?

I think he's a guy with a big ego looking to prove something to that big ego.

has nothing to do with ego, and everything to do with him being an adrenaline junkie (always have been, the bumps he took on roh were completly retarded, on some ecw terry funk and sabu type level) he just has a need to feel alive in everything he does, which is why he walked away from wrestling, it became to scripted and controlled in what they were allowed to do and not inside the ring.

he's basicly doing it because the name value he's accumulated through the years allows him to do it. simply put, a guy that does not want to live with any regrets.

-----------------------------

i'd say he's at best a comp level blue (i doubt he's even that though) and he's going up against a kid that is proven brown comp level, both in and out of gi. if this hits the mat, punk will get subbed very quickly. on some gone in less then 60 seconds.
