I wonder how much he's gonna have to rehydrate tho? The fact that he was eating cheeseburgers until very recently would suggest that he hardly cut anything at all but who knows.

why would you think that olviera was eating cheesburgers? he is big for 145 and has missed before. imo, this was an intentional miss and probably has noithing to do with illness, injury or cheeseburgers. if so, the miss could be looked as a benefit as opposed to a hinderance

From his instagram pictures (could be old pictures ofc).

Sure but it will also mean he wont be able to fully rehydrate until the morning of the fight, that is if his walking weight is >165

weighing in before breakfast shouldnt be a problem and leaves plenty of time to fully hydrate.

Lol @ me for betting Clark @ +275 thinking this was a decent price. Would have loved to have that +400. I think Clark is a bit underrated and this is WMMA at altitude.
I hit her by decision +700. Think we're the only ones taking this risk

The fact that Olives is eating McDonalds and is 9 lbs over is enough of a flag for me to think he will gas without a draining weight cut. Doubtful he is even in fight shape to begin with. Added another unit on Lamas ML.

have not read entire thread. He posted saying that Maccas photo was old.

olviera fought pettis at the end of august and signed this fight on october 12 six weeks with 25 days to train. he fought three times in both 2014 and 2015 and has only fought once this year. its not like hes cain velasquez taking the fight on a months notice after fighting only one or twice a year; there is a good chance that olviera was probably in shape waiting for an opportunity to fight before years end.

you can even make an argument that lamas has overtrained as he was scheduled to fight in october and had to push this fight back a month.

When does Diego ever end up on his back though? And i'm not convinced Held is a good enough scrambler to consistently work over Diego who I view as the better wrestler and just as good at jiu jitsu. He just doesn't have the killer instinct with subs or the 'special move' like Held's leglocks.

Yeah this second part of your post is a great example of why, until I see it, I am not at all convinced Held wins the grappling and/or Diego will not want to take him down

But...you also have to take into account how shopworn Diego is. He just doesn't look as smooth or powerful anymore as he did when he was younger. His fast twitch muscles aren't what they were. It's obvious. He's still a wily vet with solid skills and toughness. And his grappling is absolutely underrated. But at this point Held is the better athlete with more explosiveness and I'd be surprised if he doesn't control the first half of the fight at least. Now, he could gas if he's using too much energy to do it. And there could be that UFC debut adrenaline dump that goes with the altitude and Held ends up a total zombie by rd 3. These are absolutely possible and to me make his current ML unplayable.

And while Held's striking is a work in progress I'd still take it (when combined with his superior athleticism at this point) over Diego's. And, while I'm not saying it HAS happened, there's a chance Diego's granite chin was cracked for good against Joe. At his age it does happen. Prior to that I'd have given him the edge in durability. Now...not so much.

I have Held dec and Held sub in some tiny hail mary parlays but otherwise this is live bet only for me. No point in doing anything else imo. I can't fault those thinking there's value with Diego's current price, but I think the line is close enough to where I'd cap it to just pass and bet it live.

tellin you i'm gonna bet held huge if he drops like he has been lately, i honestly think people are reaching on diego

-175 to -180 or better I'm in for 1u anyway. I can't pay over 2-1 for him though in his debut.

Diego Rd2/3 + Joanna rd 3/4/5 + lamas rd 2/3 + yoel 2/3 lets get rich

You guys have me yoyoing on sanchez held i dont really know held. Gonna hold off for lb nearly went sanchez but ez made me hold out

41 UFC shows already done or planned as of now through the end of the year with the recent Manila card being cancelled. Going down to 35 would be a big loss.

We're talking about event reductions when I was holding out hope in 2-5 years we would be at weekly shows :(

shit I just found out about this, not good news at all!!

bellator will be having more events I guess... but no LB for them..

Totally disagree on this. Held is a raw prospect when it comes to stand up. He is getting too much hype. IMO he is just another middle of the pack fighter that Sanchez has a decent chance of beating.

I'm not saying that he's out of shape im only talking about him cutting weight or not. Many pro athletes eat junk food and are in phenomenal shape.
