UFC 206 - Pettis vs Holloway - Toronto

Pettis is a rather small LW.

He started this cut at 153, and stated that his body just gave out. Who knows how much merit there is to that, but I'm inclined to believe him.

If it was someone like Gastelum saying that, I wouldn't believe them. But this is the first time Pettis has ever missed weight.

I'm still on Pettis. I anticipated the line shift more towards Max so I didn't place any bets yet. I'm glad I waited, because Pettis is @ +205 right now, he'll probably be close to +220 tomorrow, which is ridiculous.

Max is rightfully the favorite, but Pettis @ 2.2:1 odds...shiiiiit.

Pettis didn't begin to cut from 153lb, that's not true. Check some videos of him out of camp or 2 months before a fight. No way is 153lb. 8lb would be easy to cut by any profesional fighter. Pettis normal weight is 170lb easy.

ortiz-makovsky
ortiz looks great. same as always, long torso'd bastard
makovsky also looks outstanding. both guys in prime shape
ortiz 2" taller

saggo looks terrific.. as good as ever, definitely
saggo is the bigger guy.. maybe 2" taller

makdessi-vannata
vannata looks good, about the same as debut, actually?
makdessi looks strong, such a weird physique
vannata 1" taller? wow, someone whose head is the same size as makdessi's at 155

gagnon finally back.. he looks solid
lopez is 2" taller

pereira is tiny, but she's strong. brazilian danielle taylor..
val look salright at this weigh-in, obviously she looked terrible earlier, 117.5, misses weight
letourneau is about hrmm, 4" taller? not 7+ like we thought

dober-OAM
dober pretty jacked as always. looks solid
OAM freakin huge 155 as usual, strong as hell.
OAM is like 4" taller, jesus, he looks huge.

krylov-cirkunov
cirkunov a tank as always. huge 205.
krylov looks fantastic, same as usual at 205 for him
they're very similarly sized, tho krylov a bit rangier, cirkunov thicker

"According to Pettis, who spoke exclusively to MMA Fighting following the weigh-ins, he arrived in Toronto weighing 153 pounds"

"Pettis said he he got down to 146.5 pounds before his team decided he would not be able to lose any more weight."

If he arrived in Toronto 4 days ago weighing 153, an 8lb cut isn't anything at all for most fighters.

But, who knows how much of that is true. He could just be trying to save face.

he's literally interviewing on fox sports 1 right now -- he said 6 pounds is all he had to cut and it just wouldn't come off

Yeah, I don't really know what to chalk it up to -- maybe all the personal drama going on with him recently(people breaking into his cars, who knows the underlying story there) has been a detriment to him.

Or maybe he's telling the truth and really did just have his body shut down on him. He did look good at the weigh-ins, though. So I hope it's the latter.

i think he's pussing out a bit, bisping just said the same thing. he prolly COULD have made it but he decided not to drain himself. it's cheating. i hope 20% of the purse isn't the only thing he loses, i hope he loses the fight. i think he will.

True. If he wins, even though he wont get the belt, there's no other logical fight for Aldo.

Edgar is ranked #2, and Aldo just recently beat him for the second time.

I see value in Pettis still...despite all of this.

Swanson lose just one time via ko, for Aldo, plus hes Good boxing , so im Like a lot over 1,5 in this fight.

event props up -- O6.5 dec +155

likely decisions:

holloway-pettis
gastelum-kennedy
OAM-dober
letourneau-pereira
lopez-ganon
makdessi-vannata
saggo-khabilov
makovsky-ortiz

that's 8 LIKELY ones, some are VERY likely, imo

the 4 less likely

cowboy-brown
choi-swanson
cirkunov-krylov
mein-meek

but it's like any of those can't be a decision, 1 of the 4 prolly will be, if not 2

so i'm doing O6.5 DEC +155 and up, bigger than usual on an event prop like this

man kelvin really looked like shit on the scales, not that he ever looked great at ww. this dude is just not a mw at all.

still, if he can keep it standing i really think he's got a great chance of winning this.

i don't think he looked bad.

killed it today, have some juicy looking parlays for tomorrow that depend on the first couple bouts of tomorrow. ONWARD to victory!! Hope people followed through and played the juice on Burgos and Sanchez after my breakdowns.

sidenote if im doing well im most liking buying out of my Holloway parlay. 90 percent of the reason i bet him was because I knew the cut to featherweight would be brutal on Pettis and in a 5-rounder there would be no way he could keep up with Maxs pace. Last three pounds don't sound like alot but if he went through with it he would fight like death tomorrow.

Now he actually looked good at the weigh ins and didnt even try to make weight. If he fights fresh (like I believe he will) and dosent gas he's a hard stylistic match-up for ANY striker out there.

Do you guys think there will be live betting tmw? On 5dimes there wasn't any today:(
