What do you rely on for home and self-defense?

Some part of Scandinavia.
I know ppl that are too carefull. It seems like that itself might create paranoia.
Im not saying you`re paranoid if you own guns, that all depends on where you live off course.

I carry my H&K USP 9mm in my truck and @ the house. If I missed an opportunity to legally end some fools life I would never forgive myself. How someone can feel safe in the modern world without a gun in the house is beyond me.

how fucking sick are you? you want a carte blanch to kill someone?

"catre blanch" to kill someone who tries to enter my home and do me harm? yes please!

Behind my bed I have one of these, just like the one on the bottom:

I live on the top floor of an apartment building and have a metal door. There's a security door at the entrance to the building. It's not a bad neighborhood at all. The chances of me being buglarized or someone breaking in are very low. I'll buy guns later, after I buy a house.

More of a concealed carry gun. After I get settled, I wouldn't mind to get a shotgun. I probably don't need one and I don't exactly like having guns in the house around children, but it would probably make me feel a little safer.

Nice carry piece, .45 and subcompact. I just dont like that tiny slide release.

That's a little different than what you originally said. That guy was right to call you out on it.

You live in idaho or some rural area I bet. I lived in LA and didn't have that much weaponry. You're like Commando trying to be a one man army.

Dude, get real. Self defense isn't just a redneck priority. I live in Canton, MI. In case you don't know where that is, it is a suburb of Detroit and is one of the twenty safest cities in the country.

How could I legally kill someone unless it was self defense? Maybe you two can split the cost of a reading comprehension tutor.

Shit, I do not envy the level of home-security you guys have to live by.
Guns, and knifes in particular makes me sick. Im so glad I dont have
to get one. Actually, for a typical burgular here, MMA skills will get you a long way.
Heck, I usually dont even lock the door..

It isn't a matter of have to, it's just preparation. I hope and pray I never have to use anything (including an armbar) on anyone in a serious situation.

It's actually 9mm. The 36 is the compact .45 caliber Glock.

I had a Ruger 9mm and a Glock .357sig but sold them a couple of years ago when my daughter was born. I decided there was a greater chance that she'd find them and accidently hurt herself or someone else then there was someone breaking into our house.

My bad, my best bud has the 36- unbelievably small for a .45. I got the USP 9 over the .45 due to lower cost of target practice.

no I understood you correctly the first time, still you would like to kill someone in self defense? You value your property more then his/her life? You are not content with a warning shot or aiming towards the burglar and waiting for the cops to show up?

You acctually want to get into a situation where you have to kill someone?

They must value my property more than their life in order to break in! Why should I value their life more than they do theirs or mine? I would not kill over my possesions (I'm insured) but rather my/families well being.

Lol all I have is this kali stick that is about 30 inches long hiding right behind my bed. We probably don't even need to lock our doors here in Ontario lol.

For a damn wooden stick....I could put little indents on metal bars! These things break bones lol.

My dog, the 2 foot blade under my bed, and myself.

Who said anything about TV's? If someone where in my house I would tell them to take whatever they had in their possession and get out of my home. People that reject this proposal are another matter.

Wow, if someone is in my house and I don't know who they are they are dead and I don't care what is in there hands.

That is definitely an option. However, the potential legal and moral ramifications of said action aren't something that makes that the most appealing option for me personally. Ultimately the situation will be the determining factor in what course of action I choose to take, and not some predetermined scripted response. Lethal force is an option, not a mandate.

Yeah I'm a little jealous. I've wanted and H&K for a while. It's not next on my list of purchases, but it's up there. Right now the Sig 556 is calling my name, but certainly not for a home defense situation, just for fun. (Or for when the Zombie uprising occurs :D)
