Boxing Discussion IV

Dwyers breakdowns are pretty good for betting information. He gives out quite a bit of information on the fighters history and styles. His picks themselves are far less valuable, but I have a very good record interpreting his videos and betting.

How do you interpret his Wlad AJ vid?

For what it is worth, all of the weekly boxing podcasts I have listened to so far predict Klitschko as the winner or believe that the betting value is on Klitschko. The aforementioned Dwyer picked Klitschko outright and is betting his moneyline as an underdog. The Boxing Gossip podcast host below thinks it's a 50/50 fight and the betting value is on Klitschko at more than 2 to 1 and also likes Klitschko by stoppage at more than 4 to 1. Scott Christ of The 13th Round podcast on BadLeftHook picked Klitschko to win. The hosts on The Boxing Rant podcast which I also enjoy think Joshua has a puncher's chance but is more likely in for a big surprise against Klitschko who they predict will win by late stoppage.

I'm putting 0.5 on Wlad ML @3.25 and 0.2 on Wlad dec @8.00.

The line is just too juiced on Joshua.

Part of me wants to bet Wlad's ml, but then the other part wants me to wait for lb.

Eastside boxing forum are split on a winner.

Won't even be close, this is just a keep busy fight Parker is leagues and leagues ahead, he's WBA Champion. Parker is coming off a win over Ruiz and Cojanu has only fought bums wouldn't waste your money Parker will run through him.

Yeah I don't know anyting about boxing truly. I just get enticed by steep odds. I really should reign it in.

Yeah the odds do look enticing but they are usually very accurate as to their chances especially that big.

I sometimes take a small stab at boxers I am not really familiar with, but you at least have to Google the names to read some news reports or articles in the boxing media in addition to checking BoxRec, Lemonzest! I read one article yesterday saying that Cojanu was the least deserving heavyweight title challenger in over twenty years, lol.

Thanks for this.

Hopefully they're not all just trying to convince themselves that he'll win because of the value on him.

Personally I'm going with Joshua, especially after watching that workout, WK looked stiff and old as fuck.

He is pretty definitively on Wlad. At his current odds with how good Wlad looks physically and his confidence I will probably end up taking him to win. I like the possibility of a late round stoppage as well. If Wlad gets into a rythym, Joshua is weak enough defensively that I think Wlad may actually be able to get a stoppage by accumulation.

C'mon Wlad knock Bruno out!

I'm so far resisting every urge to bet Wlad and wait for lb but it's gonna be so tough...help!

I'm telling you guys if this dude comes in motivated (which at least due to weight he seems well on track) then Jr is gonna give Canelo a run for his money.

I think Canelo is an awesome fighter, but the issue is that everyone's written JCCJR off as a joke and a loser after that shit hole performance against Fonfara. He's big, he's tough, Sergio broke his face and he still kept coming so you know he's got heart when he feels like showing it. Jr's a good fighter, he just has the case of" giving no fucks." Canelo is a more talented, proven, skilled fighter but Jr's size is no joke and his pressure can be very bothersome to say the least. Two years since the Fonfara "performance" so maybe he's grown a bit, he's still pretty young (31) and even with a bunch of fights he hasn't taken a ton of beatings or anything so the mileage isn't as bad as it looks.

That being said he probably finds a way to embarrass himself and therefore embarrass me by showing any confidence in his chances at all lol. Books have him around +450-475 give or take, so if my shit math doesn't fail me (honestly if I'm wrong please correct, it's super early/late here, groggy af to be writin this much this early let alone be doing math. Seriously fuck math) then looking like they're giving Jccjr a 17-18% chance here, feel like that's low, man.

So yeah I said it, from a betting perspective, I'm playing Jr. Already have a play, will add a bit more, probably no more than a unit or 1.5u (will be c/p'ing this in the boxing betting thread so ergo all the betting talk itp). Give me the big dog $ on Jr and I'll throw money away on him for these reasons.

Wrote this in a boxing forum thread and reposting it here for anyone who cares. Thread showing Jr looking a bit drained but also almost on weight and looking like he's actually working hard for this one. I know I'm far in the minority and I could very well look like a fucking mook backing this guy but this is what this forum's about, give your opinion, if you have a strong enough one break it down and see what the fellas are thinking.

Will also probably play some mix of the over, gtd, and Not Canelo itd lines.

I'm confident Alvarez wins but I do believe Chavez Jr is tough enough to give him some problems and I'll very likely play the over in the fight. Chavez looks drained as hell already which puts me off playing him, could play like the Angulo fight where he was just not the same fighter draining himself so much but Chavez Jr 100% has the tools and toughness to cause some problems, agreed there.
