guys I am torn on the Meerschaert / Santos fight.
I think Santos is a little chinny / poorer cardio / gives up the submission.
I want to play Meerschaert -- thoughts?
OK, take it for what it's worth, but my dog magic is about to run out as yesterday I hit Maynard, Klose and Tavares and today I am on Meerschaert..so certainly he's going to lose. Lol
Nevertheless, I am still on him. I've liked him all week after doing more research. He's not the most athletic fighter in the world but he is technically sound in all areas of the game. He integrates is striking and his grappling exceptionally well and consistently finds positions to hit takedowns. He hasn't lost in like four years or something. I have to check. But he is competent in all aspects of the fight game.
As for Santos, I believe he is a bit overrated and I have always believed that. I mean, who is best when is against who? Elias Theodorou? Lol
It isn't as if he is a spring chicken either and he is the type of fighter who's always giving you one step forward and two steps back. He is basically like a Uriah hall without the same athleticism. Just a mental midget.
His takedown defense is decent, but Eric Spiceley of all people took him down and submitted him. Yes I know he was injured, but still, it's Eric "fucking" Spiceley LOL you should be able to get that job done on one leg and your good arm tied behind your back.
Gerald is just crafty. He's been in the game for a long time and he knows how to position his body to give himself the best opportunity to be at the right place at the right time with the best chance to get the finish. In a lot of ways he is like a middleweight version of Mike Pyle BLR in this regard,
If you are going to play Santos, I played his decision +600 for a hedge. It's unlikely that he submits the Meer and he hasn't been knocked out in like 40 fights.
