UFN 114 PBP/Discussion

Do you remember a few events ago when he said on air that the head and arm throw is so much more common in WMMA because there is extra hair to grab on to?

I'm starting to think being a commentator rots your brain.

I can't blame him for theorising why the fuck every other wmma fight has head and arm throws, but that's a bit silly lol. I think it has to do with the lack of upper body strength - head and arms use the core strength more. But it's a stupid thing to do even in wmma, as we just saw that fight, but it keeps happening.

Yeah I bet Randa and believe that Alexa deserved the win. She was just scrappy enough in the right moments to get the nod. And it helped immensely that the crowd was going crazy every time she laid a glove on Markos.
I thought it was a great fight between two very good fighters and believe neither one of them hurt their stock at all.
I actually think that even in defeat Randas stock went up

Randa lost round 3 when she had such poor positioning when she was in Grasso's guard, allowing an easy push off with the legs for her to get up. At that point, Grasso just tagged her a little and made the Mexico judges job easy.

Mmm.. pounded.

Oh, uh. That fight was Grasso's. R3 was Grasso controlling and connecting with more (and cleaner) strikes vs Randa 1/3 TDs while doing nada on top for 20 seconds.
Pfft, "doing nada," Grasso's pretty face was saved by the bell. Red girl was pounding her hard.

yea, moreno sub would be great.

moreno dec would be good.

today sucks regardless

I think it's more that Rousey used to use a version of that throw and all the women looked up to Rousey as a goddess.

I dont think you need to over analyze the head and arm throw thing in WMMA. 99% of them are complete bums, that's the reason.

For what? For Randa not training at elevation and having nothing left when it counted most?

She was in control in the guard with two minutes 30 seconds left and hadn't received a single warning for the referee on inactivity. She could have stayed right there in that guard for another 45 seconds at least and probably would have won the decision.

The UFC production team has been mixing the odds up all night.
