Rico
-got the call from manager, did not care which opponent just wanted the shot on dana show
-was at ufc pi with buddy charles rosa training
-training 7 days a week, being smart while training also
-does not focus on individuals fully, just the basics then focuses on himself. Use to adapting to fights
rather then b/d them down fully.
-trained with some decent south paw guys so is more familiar with montels style
-coaches made sure he does not over due the camp, peaks at right time and moment
-will be an awesome fight, expects a fotn, both aggressive strikers, can take it anywhere will try
to finish while standing up or anywhere. Suggest first fighter to make a big mistake will lose.
-cornered previous ufc fighters so knows the drill well
-27th fight with amateur/pro so is comfortable in all areas by now, is all about making the right moves and decisions for himself.
Montel
-got involved when he got dropped from wrestling to mma
-his friend told him to enter ji jitsu tourneys due to his wrestling background. So got
involved in rolling in ji jitsu. Took down all his opponents in tourney, subbed 3 out of 4 guys...
-small amateur career before moving to pro
-was hard to get noticed in mma, fighters don't want to lose or take on undefeated guys.
-works during nights, trains during days
-knows nothing about his opponent rico, does not even know his full name more concerned.
-worked with zak, d2 all american guy, simmons, tim harley and guys due on dana show.
-will mix in punches in bunches and will hurt him all bad intentions
Kevin Holland
-discusses his last fight, says if guys take him down its his ji jitsu time (submission win last fight)
-suggest fans like to see the ko aspect, not always interesting in the grappling/ji jitsu aspect
-its a giant fighting a midget (opponent), says his opponent is 5.8, he is 6.2" so match makers want to see a trophy ko here.
-santiago opponent will be his easiest opponent he ever gets
-made move to 185, since 170 weight cuts were too difficult. Walks around 205 pounds, does
weight lifting and running to improve cardio a lot.
-training at greg jacksons, so striking and ji jitsu on point but training lots of places around the world even ufc pi.
-maybe upper cut finish but will see
Chris curtis
-@ team quest, drilling mma classes
-fighting for over 10 years
-fought for CES promotion
-says lally not cleanest technique but big puncher, is a strong and tough guide but he has
better boxing, power and ji jitsu.
-suggest lally never been in deep waters before
-has been fighting elite competition so not an issue here, lally not fought anyone close
-sam alvey, sean strickland and lots of bodies to train with
-been around 192, should be cutting about 12 pounds of water so should be fine
-says lally has not sacrificed like he has, but he has every day for 10 years so if he stand up he
goes to sleep if he goes to the ground still goes to sleep
Lally
-sunday one rest day of the week, has trained full time for this camp with 4 sessions per day
-teach group classes and personal training does 4-6hrs, does security at night club but not doing
it this camp was lucky to get sponser's in so he could train full time for this fight.
-started karate and taekwondo when young but at 16 found an mma gym and started training
had first fight 17 and pro @ 18. Joined military though after but 6 years after back to mma.
-is a finisher prefers to ko or submit guys and that is why he is on dana show
-worked with some boxers (pro 21-0) got a ji jitsu coach and greg rabello, tom eagaan @ his school.
-sees a technical fight, comfortable where ever the fight plays out but expects a striking war more
but has a game plan but anything can happen.
