The Cyborg-White War Escalates

Him: She's a Man; Her: He's Not a Man

Cyborg says her re-signing with the UFC depends on her receiving these apologies. She broke it down on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on Monday.

“Of course he has to apologize,” she said of White (h/t MMA Mania). “He has family, he has kids and if he wants to be honest, he’s supposed to do this. I don’t know if he has a heart, but what he’s doing is not just touching me, if he doesn’t like me. He’s touching people around me, my family. It’s not right. He always wants to avoid his family with things he does, but when he does this it affects my family.

“Public,” she added later. “It’s easy to say it in private like Joe Rogan did when there were no cameras. No, you want to talk about me [publicly], how I have a d!ck, you have to talk in public. You’re not a man, to me you’re not a man. If Joe Rogan [is] a man, he will say I am sorry in public, not [whisper] in my ear.”

Cris Cyborg has also been commenting on the issue on Twitter.

“Every woman deserves the right to go to work in an environment free of sexual harassment, online bullying, and work place intimidation,” she wrote in a Tweet that tagged Dana White, Joe Rogan, the UFC and ESPN.

Does she deserve an apology? Yes.
Do I think shes only bringing this up 6 years after it happened because her contract ran out? Also yes.

Well she’s picked the right time in society to bring up this issue

Dana will never apologise publicly so bye Cyborg !

Asking Sherdog if Cyborg deserves an apology is like asking if Trump deserves due respect at a democrat gathering..

She is 100% right, Rogan should have her on his pod and apologise there, Dana will never apologise.

Agree, it feels more like a power play in some ways to me.

But to OP. 100% yes. A professional person making dick/tranny jokes in a environment already unfriendly to female athletes and a highly stigmatized profession for a female because of the 'she's a man' jokes most women in fighting will get. Yeah it's a bad look for the sport.

I'd be just as happy if she were to go away.

Honestly Dana is still acting like a clown telling the media she is afraid to fight Nunes again so he can downplay her worth and make a deal for her to be stuck in another ufc contract that will consume the rest of her career. It's pretty bad... but people are starting to see past Whites bullshit and espn is even letting ariel expose it.. I dont think he can continue to control ed everything much longer.

It's been this long, and you're forcing an apology.

Does she honestly believe it will be sincere? If so, lol. If not, what's the point here?

Also this triggered me

Why insert "whisper"?

Interested in how this plays out... My Facebook UFC feed is dropping Cyborg v Nunes 2 stuff this week... Kinda surprising support for her ……. Maybe trying to do everything "but" apologize (or give her money)….

I hope she keeps pushing. And keeps fighting.

I think she knows that she's not going to re-sign with the UFC and is giving this ultimatum to get fan support when she leaves.

If she leaves then Dana will continue to say she was scared to rematch Nunes, but Cyborg will say she couldn't stand for being disrespected and left because she didn't get an apology, she will be lauded for being "brave" and standing up to the man.

Cyborg knows there's a 0% possibility of Dana ever publicly apologizing to her.

Cyborg is in the top 1-3 woman fighters of all time. It amazes me how she's treated in the UFC..

I don't even like wmma and I respect her..

Cyborg is a constant hassle...no wonder she's always bouncing around between organizations. For years she refused to drop some muscle and move to 135 and fight legit competition. Now a 135'r came up to her weight class and KO'd her and, all of a sudden, she's upset about shit that Dana said 5+ years ago? Let her go to Bellator or wherever and fight complete and total cans. I don't imagine that she's a big PPV star, but I could be wrong.

She def has an American lawyer whispering in her ear, setting up the lawsuit to come.

I think it's a retaliation for the hit job Dana has been doing on her lately. She's giving him a taste of his own medicine.

Well, to be fair, it's hardly the first time she brought it up.
