UFC 241 Cormier vs Miocic II

Pettis is a fast starter but I doubt he can put Diaz away in the first. At even money I won't put anything on him pre-fight but I think he can win round 2 and 3 so hopefully I can get some +money on him after round 1.

Is Manny Bermudez the real deal? Other than that big right he landed on Davey Grant he hasn't shown any real stand up skills, but obviously his striking is just a means to an end.

Kenny is very sharp on the feet and his wrestling and scrambles held up against Borg, but Borg doesn't really attack subs in the way Manny does.

Is this a case of it hits the floor once and Kenny gets tied up, or can he survive down there for a while? It's hard to judge from tape with Manny's fights being so short and the competition level being so low how good he actually is. No doubt his scrambles and sub game are excellent but does he have the wrestling to get it there? If Kenny can stuff or avoid takedowns he will have a huge advantage on the feet.

Yeah I just think Macedo is more athletic and is actually the better striker lol. Both have suspect gas tanks and I think Poly is gonna have grappling success up a weight class for the first time seeing how her wrestling is almost non existant and jiu jitsu might be overrated. Mundial champ credits haven't really translated into the cage imo.

Noooooooo. My life is over :(
I bet Macedo, Viana up a weight class on short notice, striking disadvantage, size disadvantage probably a slight wrestling disadvantage. Viana has decent BJJ but Macedo's half decent and Viana's TDs are weak so she should struggle to implement it. Macedo should probably be a slight favourite at least imo.

Viana KO'd Ribas at 115, she may get a bit of pop at 125.
That fight just showed how insanely bad Ribas was at the time with almost no striking technique. Just rushing forward with her chin sky high and zero head movement. Viana just swung wild hooks back and happened to catch her. Viana's striking is still bad and if girls with legitimately good striking like Lee weren't dropping Macedo at 125 its extremely unlikely Viana does, especially when she's not actually bulking up for 125 or anything.

Like who?
It's like a Shawshank prison yard in here man. Everyone is profitable and no one is ever wrong.

Very few come here to hear other opinions. It’s just justification after justification of their own opinion. @lifeisgood12345 put it well a few post back.
Hmm. I think most do. Just gets loud sometimes.

Him? Meh. One-liners and is usually wrong. Doesn't post tracked results or pre-fight bets. Has never contributed one useful thing here, ever.

Diaz was able to deal with Cerrone's kicks

And Pettis has looked pretty bad lately. He is far from his showtime days. Just bc he has been losing to stud competition doesn't mean it's unlikely he loses when he takes a small step down. Wonderboy picked him apart for 2 rounds while he did nothing. If Pettis doesn't find a grappling advantage, the Diaz fight could possibly look the same.

Conor is an elite striker who struggled to hang with Nate at 170 because Nate is a great striker with monster reach, chin, and cardio. If Nate can hang with Conor striking, he can definitely beat low output Pettis.
Cerrone barely kicked vs Nate and just got into wild retarded exchanges with him. Not to mention that was 8 years ago, Cerrone also had zero answer to pressure in that fight without the clinch, TD threat and other skills he uses now.

Diaz is a terrible striker compared to Wonderboy and for those 2 rounds Pettis pressured and cut down Wonderboys lead leg which ultimately set up the superman punch finish, about as smart of a gameplan as he could do. If anything that fight is a great example of Pettis sticking to a gameplan that would work on Diaz and also that he looks decent physically at 170 which Nate never did.

Nate did not hang with Conor at all skillwise and certainly isn't a great striker, he's an alright boxer. Conor just mauled him while fresh landing huge shots at will and only when he gassed did Diaz begin to takeover at all. Nates striking game is literally poor defence, just boxing and no power, it's alright but is incredibly flawed. The only answer Diaz has to try and counter an actual kick threat is to try and walk forward into the pocket and force a boxing exchange. Even when guys do get into those exchanges he's so hittable that guys can normally handle him there as long as they keep their fundamentals decent and don't headhunt. Guys like Johnson did that getting overly emotional when he won R1 going to the body and legs, then after R1 just started dropping his hands and swinging shots at Diaz head which were either out of range or hit his arms.

i honestly don't see pettis finishing diaz, even less in rd 1 lol. neither the other way around, but certainly more likely.

Taped henisch vs Brunson...

This fight is kinda a meme, Henisch is difficult to gauge as he doesn’t seem great at anything other than coming out on top on wrestling sprawls/ outlasting his opponent,
Granted with his athleticism it works and Brunson will most likely let that style of fight happen

Brunson is a rd 1 danger if he decides to come out crazy but hurricane by decision seems hyper likely here

Refnar:
"I wanna talk to the commission....yeah, so whatta we do here, in Jersey? DQ him or another point?"

Who the fuck hard warns for the first unintentional low blow? Also if there were no point deductions, that would have been a top 5 robbery of the year since 2 judges gave it to Kennedy somehow.

If Pettis fights a smart fight it will be hard for him to lose. He's gonna leg kick the shit out of Diaz, keep distance and not engage in a boxing match. Think Henderson vs. Diaz. I would put Pettis at + 180 atleast. And Diaz has had only 2 fights in 4 years..Don't think he's gonna be the same.

Anyone have thoughts on the Yoel/Costa fight?
I got good money on Costa when he opened at +175 and I'm happy with it. Yoel is 40 years old going up against someone who hit's like a horse. If Costa keeps on the outside will be very hard for Yoel to do his normal plan of shelling up and occasional exploding with strikes..

I agree, Im hoping Henisch becomes less of a favorite so I can put some money down on him. Not special but very solid and athletic. Also very smart fighter who tends to put together a good gameplan.

This is naturally really speculative, but Diaz can win this by fighting smart too. Usually being the out fighter is the smart thing for Nate because of the reach advantage and poor tdd, but there's not really that much reason to stay at kicking range this time. It seems pretty obvious, that pressure is the key to take Pettis out of his element. Clinch work is an option too. He did pretty well in clinch against Conor.

Has Nate ever fought smart? Dude's pretty one note as a fighter, Pettis has an incredible chin and solid cardio. Diaz only has 3 rounds to get this done.

Costa Dec +650 I like, on another note.

The people who actually talk tend to more frequently be proven wrong or right about things, whilst captain hindsights and lurkers can just kinda sit in the bushes jerking off
