No he doesn't.he’s the first UFC double champion and took out Aldo, Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier. Yes he lacks title defenses (which is an issue) but he makes up for it with his run at FW and his overall resume.
He has 5 top 10 wins in his career and is not the first fighter too win too UFC belts. The "Champ Champ" thing is bullshit since the UFC just let him hang onto the FW belt he never defended just long enough to become "Champ Champ" against a guy nobody even considered the best LW at the time and never should have gotten the shot too begin with.
His "FW run" was him beating a Max ranked 15th coming off a loss at the time, (he gets credit for beating Max years before Max was Max) a few other guy's outside the top 10 and then got a TS after beating 6th ranked Porier, (another guy he gets praised for beating for what he became years later who is not the same fighter he fought).
Yeah, Mendez happened before Aldo giving him his first top 5 win and yeah, he beat Aldo in a fight both guys landed 1 punch at the exact same time in but not giving Aldo the rematch and immediately getting a LW title shot was ridiculous.
He never proved he was the best FW and his "FW run" is drastically over rated.
He is not any where near the GOAT list since he never actually had to beat top ranked contenders too get Hus title shots.
Sure, credit where credits due for winning them but anyone can win a belt on any given night, a real Champ/ all time great proves themselves by routinely beating top competition and defending their place atop a division. He never did this.
