Getting your likes back shouldn't be a huge problem for any quality poster. Might take couple of years, but so what. Just keep posting and don't stress about it too much.

Rofl I had like a 3 to 1 ratio before the purge. This is stupid.

How long ago was the like implemented? Are we going to have a purge every 5 years or so? This is a temp fix. Tech need to find a permanent solution.

Hum, allegedly, likes are a problem, so let's erase all likes but limit the likes people can give/get?
Looks like censorship to me. Probably a lot of people were getting likes for controversial opinions, and an excuse was created to censor those likes.
This strategy is done in nearly everywhere in society. Create a problem and sell the solution.
Same things with the memes
- leftists were being destroyed in every thread because they can't meme
- "memes are bad for the forum, let's not ban them completely, that would be to obvious, just contain it in one thread"

i mean seriously, it doesn't make any sense at all.

i can't imagine how the likes are implemented to cause any issues at all. the logic behind them is precisely the same as the logic behind posts being linked to a thread, except simplified. this is a forum with some 160k registered users, and the developers can't efficiently implement a like button?

what the fuck kind of buffoon suggests that deleting past entries and limiting the number of likes per user is the solution here? there's gotta be a thousand people using this site who know better.

Some of us started with like 6000 posts in the hole when likes came out, put in hard work to get that respectable ratio. Then back to Notta, LoL...

This is the best idea. Should be some type of incentive/reward to stimulate one to hoist up Good content or witty convo.
Otherwise participation quality-quantity gonna suffer.
