Do you agree with this EO?

this is gonna open his fat ass up to getting sued for posting libelous nonsense all day on Twitter.

To my knowledge, individual users are already liable for libel charges. For example, at least a few if not all of Trump's recent tweets about Joe Scarborough seem libelous to me. Being on twitter doesn't exempt Trump or any other user from such charges to my knowledge. It shouldn't.

However, since Twitter doesn't make an honest attempt to be a neutral platform, why should they be shielded from responsibility for the venom spewed forth on their site daily?

Multiple things wrong legally and constitutionally with this EO, which is why when the dust settles it won't change anything significantly.

In general regulation is coming though, so these companies will probably come under some pressure in short term. Won't effect underlying business of FB and Google that much though so I imagine a buying opportunity is presenting itself.

You're gonna need to keep working on that.

The whole thing is bananas. Trump is getting more and more extreme but he's still doing the exact same shit he did in 2016. Just trying to distract and divide people.
Watching this administration circle the toilet is satisfying, but November can't come fast enough to get this clown out of office.

They're going to have to power wash the Lincoln bedroom to get the Burger King smell out.

What the fuck does that even mean?

also isn’t all of that trashed when you agree to terms of use?

So, if he says some vile shit, or someone like Alex Jones does, will they be liable as well?

This will change nothing lmao

Crybaby Trump attempting to abuse his power as usual. Wahhhhhhhhh

So let me get this straight, when a liberal President inevitably comes, he can go after Fox News and Rush Limbaugh (bye bye Freedom Medal or whatever the fuk that participation trophy was) ?

I feel like you guys haven't actually read the EO. It doesn't impose liability on anyone, it clearly and simply defines those who act as publishers. Actual publishers aren't going to be subject to any more scrutiny or punishment than they were before.

Nah, the powerwashing was needed after all the cum from the Clinton days. Trump's failures could be removed with a bowl of vinegar left overnight. I'm assuming Trump has farted on each and every wall in the complex at this point.

If twitter becomes more liable for their content, you can bet your sweet ass that they will pay that liability forward to their users. You don't have to be able to think that far ahead to realize there is no way in holy hell that Twitter is going to take the brunt of this.

Maybe this is worth it after all.

I could be ignorant of the whole situation but I think this is a case of twitter bias against conservatives while not being a publisher.

Fox News and Rush are publishers. CNN/MSNBC are publishers.

If twitter wants to just be biased/fact check only conservatives than they shouldn’t have the protections afforded to them while not being considered a publisher.

Again I’m open for discussion as I am right leaning but also maybe ignorant on the semantics of all this.

Again, this is really simple...this, in the end, would come down on users...not Twitter.

This is moot. This is rage red meat legislation that will eventually fail. Another pile of shit thrown at the wall to distract from the Corona virus.

Dude, if you don't recognize the humor in white house lawyers scurrying to write up a legally viable document to the satisfaction of that fat dump, because he's upset that Twitter was like "dude you're lying right now", I don't know what to tell you. It's fucking funny.

They'll make a Conservative friendly social media platform and it will fail.

There are a thousand of those that already have failed —-

it’s a flawed concept , create a platform for a niche market to solve a problem related to an open ended market

Burger King and McDonald's have very different smells. But yes, power washing is in order.

Morbidly obese people who eat lots of fast food make terrible smells that go beyond farting.

Good point on the walls though, that spray tan isn't coming out with just dawn dish soap.
