Social New Jordan Peterson Book made Penguin's SJWs Burst Into Tears

Sure. Cancel culture should only be approved when directed at those with the least power.

How about: Everyone gets to have their say. And everyone gets to respond to that say.

I would feel the same if some employees at Random House didn't want to participate in the publishing of a book on critical race theory. Let them express their dissent. This is what actual freedom of speech looks like.
Telling them to fuck off and get back to work is another aspect of free speech.

Need some tissues Alice?

Oops. The previous video I gave you was the wrong one.

THIS is the right one.

How one person (JP) can be SOOOO narcissistic and CLOSE-MINDED/MEAN-SPIRITED about the arts.................... Wow.

Just about every right leaning debater crumbles under religious discussion. They lose those, every time. But that doesn't invalidate their good stuff. Just like saying BLM are swell people wouldn't invalidate an opinion, say, like gay marriage is ok.

And Matt Dillahunty is a cunt. (I'm an atheist and I tried watching his show - but he insists on being a cunt. It's embarrassing.) How bout you try to be a decent person? Nahh... Cunt.

Rule 1: Take Benzos with caution .
Rule 2: Have your kids get famous off your name.
Rule 3: Talk shit bout Lib politics but not conservative but when asked about conservatives politics only say something half assed bad .
Rule 4: Eat only meat.
Rule 5: Everything is an existential threat .
Rule 6: Always stay in Russian Mental Hospitals over Asian, Latin, European, Middle Eastern or American .
Rule 7: Decorate your house with scenes of concentration camps ,famine , death and destruction on every wall to remind you of fragility of life.
Rule 8: When faced with loved ones illness, Big Pharma is your best friend .
Rule 9: The Bible is pretty cool.
Rule 10: Always use gel in hair and when trying to change look, a Bond villain goatee. Is best to grow .
Rule 11: Find your own personal Hell.
Rule 12: Be dangerous .
Now to be fair to Jordan, if I was put on an all-meat diet by my CHAOS DRAGON daughter, the misery I'd feel while desperately trying to take a shit would probably turn me into a drug addict as well. Once I got out of my coma and regained some of my powers of speech I probably wouldn't think of writing a self-help book, though. Especially If I was known for telling people to get their own lives in order before daring to criticize the world. I'd probably be embarrassed about my display of hypocrisy. But, the grift must go on. It won't stop Jordan.

Dillahunty became more of an asshole after he got married to his feminist wife.

Telling them to fuck off and get back to work is another aspect of free speech.

An employer is absolutely free to do this. Penguin will have to decide which is of more value to the company: Peterson on their author roster or the complaining employees' continued contributions to Penguin.

What is it about a free, back-and-forth exchange of competing ideas and competing interests that makes you feel so threatened?

I just wish some of the people on that show would have a non-cunty look about them every once in a while. It really is embarrassing to be an atheist these days. I'm mean... I'm an atheist and I feel more empathy for christians than I do atheists. And christians pretty much terrorized me the first half of my life. I hated them. I hated half my family. But now I've grown up and I try to be decent. Just let some things go. Not everyone wants to believe that all of life is devoid of higher purpose. And that's ok. Just let them be and give them respect. Take a jab or two if you have to, and move on.

There probably are other guys like me out there, but they're quiet. Matt and his cronies are ... yeah. Embarrassing.

the mantra of the new left: "everything I disagree with is 'hate speech.' I'm not going to debate you, or question the merits of your work but I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure you are silenced/canceled. "
And everything the left does is a globalist conspiracy, like wearing masks to stop the spread of a virus. A large portion of people cannot handle independent thought. They need to be told what to do. There's no way around this, we're going to be stuck with imbeciles like this forever.

Not threatened at all. It's a joke idea perpetuated by people with zero direction or purpose in life. Imagine tryingto censor somebody as benign as Peterson.

How retarded do you think most of us are? How much of a misanthrope are you?

<bball1>

Edit - shrieks of cancellation are not a back and forth dialogue you tit. Quit trying to present the blue-haired wailing as honest dialogue. Gimme a break man....

There used to be a level of intellectual rigour to taking an atheist position.

Now it seems to be more a lifestyle choice. People doing the right thing for the wrong reason.

I blame Richard Dawkins

I think we can all agree that everyone has the God-given right to be published by their preferred publishing house, and employees should not be allowed to criticize their bosses or have any input into the direction of their company. That's the True Liberal Position.

The "True Liberal Position" is pretty much only followed in the United States.
Currently, in places like Canada and other countries (Germany), there is a list of banned books for sale.
Mostly right-wing political books, especially National-Socialist Germany era books. Far left books are fine though.

They would be instantly fired and the media would smear them as racists. We all know that. Try to be even a little bit honest some time.

unfortunately we have only seen one, may be two left leaning posters in this thread who have been honest and have expressed ideas consistent with true liberal thought.

the vast majority have been as anti-liberal (how ironic) as you can get.

Fucking hell. People will simply say anything to rag on people. White supremacy lol, talk about baseless. The guy's not perfect, and he's fine fodder for some ribbing. But white supremacy etc is simply ridiculous. Save those words for the Hitlers of the world, not guys who are somewhat conservative.

The left is usually not very good at debading ideas, so a good, fun and effective way to shut down any conversation and declare yourself the winner, even thoug h you're as stupid as a slice of pizza, is simply to attack people with negative buzzwords. "You're a nazi". If the person is a nazi, thenhe's wrong by default and isn't worthy of your time. You're simply right because you're the good guy. You're the one pointing the finger to hitler. You don't need arguments. You're simply Mr.Goody Goody. You're right by default. I mean, how could you be wrong if you're attacking fascists, right? You're basically Batman with low blood sugar.

Technically, freedom of speech means allowing the book publishing to go on unopposed, and for the ideas contained within the book to be refuted in a civil forum.

Opposing the release of a book is undemocratic. It's trying to silence thought without addressing the argument contained in the book. It's all part of left wing cancel culture stating that silencing people & books/media is better than debating them.

Several Penguin Random House Canada employees confronted management about the company’s decision to publish a new book by controversial Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson at an emotional town hall Monday, and dozens more have filed anonymous complaints, according to four workers who spoke to VICE World News.
On Monday, Penguin Random House Canada, Canada’s largest book publisher and a subsidiary of Penguin Random House, announced it will be publishing Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life by Peterson, to be released in March 2021. The book will be published by Portfolio in the U.S. and Penguin Press in the U.K., both part of the Penguin Random House empire.

Four Penguin Random House Canada employees, who did not want to be named due to concerns over their employment, said the company held a town hall about the book Monday, during which executives defended the decision to publish Peterson while employees cited their concerns about platforming someone who is popular in far-right circles.

“He is an icon of hate speech and transphobia and the fact that he’s an icon of white supremacy, regardless of the content of his book, I’m not proud to work for a company that publishes him,” a junior employee who is a member of the LGBTQ community and who attended the town hall told VICE World News.

Another employee said “people were crying in the meeting about how Jordan Peterson has affected their lives.” They said one co-worker discussed how Peterson had radicalized their father and another talked about how publishing the book will negatively affect their non-binary friend.

It used to be "we need to deplatform (hate)" which is defined as pretty much anything that isn't critical race theory.
But now they've regressed all the way to 'we need to deplatform stuff that is completely legitimate just because our opponents like it.' Pretty soon they'll be out for banning milk to stop white supremacists from drinking it.

I blame America.. the US goes a little batty and Canada says hold my beer.
