Rozenstruik has a way better kickboxing resume than Gane

I agree, always said it was a Pick Em fight...

I do wonder, how come Gane has so few competitive fights at 30? What has he been doing the last 12 years?
Ngannou seemingly had more experience at his age, and he'd spent most of his life shovelling sand and travelling.

He was working in a store, selling high end furnitures.
He had his first muay thai class at 24, just following a friend to have fun and the coach saw he had potential. Then he started MMA at 27.

Biggi is going to wreck Gane.
He just appears to be a very different animal. Gane has appeared to be hesitant and somewhat timid in comparison.
Gane has shown more well rounded skills, and likely has more dynamic ground game, but he is hardly Fabricio Werdum or somebody that is super high level.

Gane is not the type of fighter to over commit to anything.
If Roz wants something to happen he will need to go forward amd attack first. Otherwise Gane will be happy to outkick him from outside for 25 minutes and coast a decision.

Small octagon tho.

I'd agree keeping it at range or on the ground benefits Gane but I'm not sure we've really see him tested enough to say he can definately do that against a quality opponent.

I mean we have seen Gane exchange aggerssively a few times already and its not IMHO looked very pretty. Roz himself isnt exactly a brilliant boxer I spose but he is IMHO cleaner and more compact.

On paper he looks great but when you see him fight his striking doesn't look technical and he was getting smashed by guys like Junior Albini before the KO

Jeeze, thats some mad talent for 6 years!

Thanks for the insight Sherbro
<RomeroSalute>

He was playing Soccer during all his young age 10 yo to 17 at very good level, he played also rugby a little bit. Then he switched to basketball from 18-23 and again he was very good.
He started MT at 24, MMA at 27

Curious what position in Soccer he played.

Good question, I'll ask him next time I have the chance to chat with him. IMO soccer and basketball are the reason of his great footwork and success

I played both to a decent level myself as a kid and teenager, i'd guess he was a defender just because of his size, but perhaps he wasn't always so tall..

I'd be inclined to agree with you after reading many @Ironnik94 posts on the transferable skills, with regards to hand eye coordination too.

Jose Aldo another one I think benefited from the Soccer :)

Rozen wins. Better hands. More power. Quicker.

Gane has better kicks but nothing Rozen hasn't seen.

Better, or longer? Usually these gigantic kickboxing records are FILLED with randoms.

I think a lot of it stems from the fact that Gane has a huge advantage if/when the fight goes to the ground, and based on watching Rosenstruick's TDD, he should be able to get it there if he chooses. But we shall see. I do think the odds for this fight are a lot wider than they should be.

Everyone is trying to jump on the Gane Train a little too quick. So Roz had a tough time with Overeem and got Caught by Francis early on. Hes alot more experienced and durable than anyone Gane has fought( besides JDS) and I havent seen a whole lot from Gane that has me thinking hes the next HW star. He hasnt beat anyone special and catching a past prime JDS with a back of head elbow wasnt worth much. He kinda reminds me of Travis Browne. He might get a few good wins and make some waves and might even get past Roz but i doubt he will be a threat to the top 5 and would even bet on Lewis or volkov to beat him
I'm honestly surprised that you're not ashamed to show your face around these parts (aka The Dawg) after that Yana Kunitskaya vs Ketlen Vieira debacle. If I got roasted like that, I'd probably go into hiding for a while. Props to you for not hiding in shame though, I suppose.
For real though, Gane likely wins this via being a better overall fighter (much better grappler) and a better athlete as well.
Their kickboxing records (especially considering the difference in amount of kickboxing fights) has absolutely nothing to do with how an mma fight between the two will play out. If Gane wasn't the favorite, I would 100% put money down on him.

Everyone is already moving on to the new hype train. Gane's hype is newer than Rozenstruik so now they gotta root for the the new undefeated guy. That's all this is. The latest is the greatest.

Yom Aspinal is the futur I can see him posing great problem to Gane because of his fast hands

You should be the one who is ashamed to show yourself around here anymore. I assume sure your thinking of Willek. I am Wellik. I have been here a little longer and haven't participated in any Kunitskaya/Veira related threads. Even though you made me go back and double check. You Sherdouche

Haha, doesn't surprise me!

He probably was fairly decent technique-wise, i imagine.

Crazy coincidence but Jarzinho also played football(soccer) and basketball before going to kickboxing the MMA.
