Ngannou vs Stipe probably ends like Blaydes-Lewis

Because Stipe will resort to his wrestling, Ngannou best shot is to land a perfectly timed uppercut when Stipe shoots. Seeing how Derrick Lewis did that versus Curtis Blaydes. What are the chances Ngannou steals the same technique?

Last week I rewatched their first fight and I was surprised at how dominate Stipe was. Much of it had to do with Francis being totally exhausted but was a one sided affair.

This fight will be interesting for sure

Here's what happened where ngannou had 25 minutes to "land a perfectly timed uppercut"

How many times does Stipe have to be the underdog during his reign as champ lol. I think this will be just like the first fight. I’m not sold that Francis has worked enough on his ground game.

Francis will bull-rush Stipe, because that's all he knows. If Stipe survives the first five minutes, he will win the fight, either via UD or late-round TKO.

I don't see Ngannou having that kind of fight IQ. He'll start swinging for the fences and it'll work or it won't.

True but the irony in your statement was too good to pass up.

I actually forgot that fight happened which is funny since it was Cain's debut on ESPN & FOX where he got knocked out and embarrassed in seconds. (The FOX card being the JDS KO)

I was thinking of the Cain who made JDS a punching bag for 10 rds and that was against a Junior with amazing TDD where as Ngannou doesn't.

Well the one time he was favorite against DC he got knocked out so maybe being the underdog is good for him lol

Stipe dominated pretty much every minute of their first encounter. Could Francis win? I guess but I’m not betting on it.

I've seen the fight twice and it amazes me that Stipe never attempts a submission

Ah cardio Cain. That was a long time ago. I doubt Stipe has the ability to go that type of pace. He did use that strategy quite some time ago but it wasn’t great for him back then and would definitely not work now. He can still mix up takedowns and strikes better than Blaydes but that relentless pace won’t work at his age.

I figure Ngannou will be more patient this time around, which will make it more dangerous for Stipe. The last time Ngannou’s ego got to him. He went in looking for a KO and made it easy to slip his punches and mix in takedowns. I expect Ngannou to try and counter Stipe this time. This could mean we are in for another Ngannou vs BB, where they both wait for the other guy to go first but I doubt Ngannou rushes in again.
