General MMA Discussion & Future Lines- 2020

Nate is my favorite fighter and I'll be at 262, but first glance Leon is just better everywhere.

He's the younger, lankier striker that's more powerful in the clinch.

He can mix in TDs that Nate can't stop, and he has the cardio to go 5 full rounds.

The only place that Nate is better is on top, but Edwards has stellar TDD, Nate will never get it there.

I'd have to get him at like +400 to play him. I was hoping Jorge and Edwards would fight, because Edwards is way fucking better and Jorge has/had a huge hype train around him so the odds would be close.

As a Diaz fan this is actually annoying news. Make Nate vs Luque, that would actually be a more winnable fight for Nate, and a banger.

i think edwards wins but holy hell diaz at +310 is very attractive. I think maybe a dec prop for either is probably the way to go.

Nate isn't the idiot people think he is either. He has a good team around him.

He came back to this particular fight for a reason. He either sees something in Leon that he thinks he can exploit, or the UFC tossed him a huge bag and this is one final payday.

Whenever he came back in 2015 against MJ he was +300 as well if I remember right.

I'm guessing WB opens at +160 against Burns. I'm all over that shit.
Thompson vs Gilbert? I'm a huge WB Stan but he is slowing down a bit and Gilbert can crack. Either 30-27 WB or Burns catches him with a bomb like he landed on Usman.

I think Thompson at + is a great opportunity. Wonderboy isn't bulletproof, but he took some big shots from Luque and looked really good there, no? Been a while since I saw that one

I went with usman ko cause I don't think highly of burns chin or cardio, if it was 5 rounds I would uber max wonderboy but tbh in my mind I would line him as a favorite to begin with so I'd be surprised if he was a medium/big sized dog.

Just trying to measure my expectations. WB is a local legend to me and probably my favorite fighter. The thought of one last title run makes mE question my unit management.... I will say Geoff Neal was coming off a career threatening hospital stay before that last fight with WB though.

Wonderboy is gonna school Gilbert on the feet like he did against Luque and Neal. I'll gladly go big on him once more. People keep underestimating him eventhough he's a striking God with great takedown defense. He's especially in his element against pressure fighters like Burns and Luque.

Basically my thoughts too. I rate Wonderboy as being in the upper echelon, while I think Burns has likely peaked and doesn't beat most of the top WWs with any consistency.

What does everyone think the Pitbull / McKee odds will be? I'd say Pitbull should be a fav in the range of -160 / 200 ish.

Lmfao bookies are so dumb. Opened wonderboy at +135 then gets steamed to almost -200 less than an hr later.

Definitely a questionable opener, but seeing as they place micro-sized limits on them, a few $50 dollar bets can flip those lines in a hurry. Basically, the lines are tossed out there but then pretty much set themselves after a little bit of money starts to come in. In this case, I doubt the mispriced opener will cost the sportsbook 5 figures or anything.

Opening odds were way off on this fight, how could anyone who saw Barber's last fight open her at this much of a favorite? Odds have already moved to make Maverick the favorite as expected.

Don't these silly casuals know fighting in a comain event automatically means you should be a massive favorite in your next fight.

You can get Volkov at +132. This is gonna be a kickboxing match and the more experienced and more powerful guy is the dog? There's no reason Volkov should be the dog here. I think it'll be a close fight but the power of Volkov is what is gonna be that slight edge that wins him the fight.

He is fighting Gane right? I may have a ticket to the hype train but Gane is no joke. His combination of movement, speed, strike variety and range management are something I've never seen at heavy weight. I think he is too fast and moves too well for Volkov, Gane's cardio is impressive as well. Maybe I am just on the train but Gane has barely been touched in the ufc so far. Former training partners with Francis too, I honestly think that would be a good fight.

I still think that out of principle, you have to pick the more experienced kickboxer in this fight. At worst this is a pick'em fight.

Can't blaming ya taking Volkov. Still one thing always comes to mind when I see Gane fight. In my opinion he fights like a significantly more experienced fighter than his mma record would indicate.

Have 500 locked up on Chandler +125, and 150 on Diaz +325.

Diaz probably gets smoked but I'll be there live, and I need some action on that fight.
