UFC 261: Usman vs Masvidal 2 official thread

This is the first live show of the year is it not? Jacksonville Florida right? Bet that town will be red hot. Always good to keep positive vibrations moving around.

First live with fans in the US yes, but the 3 Abu Dhabi cards in January had fans in attendance although with limited capacity.

Where is USADA? What the fuck is going on? How is this allowed?

Anyways her opponent is 5'9 at SW and seems like a pure grappler. Carnelossi probably washes her on the feet and from what I've seen she knows what to do to stuff takedowns. Her fight with Joice Mara is on Youtube and her defensive grappling looked pretty good. She fights for the underhook and is strong as hell, you can see that here:

She's also like 5 foot 2, so low centre of gravity and she easily has a strength advantage over a 5'9 strawweight who is not physically impressive.

Carnelossi is also a fighter that will fight for your money.

Holy shit

Switching back and forth between Hall and Weidman.

Hall has looked good recently but he's so fucking inconsistent.

If Weidman gets him down once, the fight may be over. Hall can also end the fight at damn near any moment.

They're both 36, but in terms of fight miles, Weidman has way more. And Hall gets better as the fight goes on, it's tough to call.
pass on both imo, worn jaw vs blue belt ground game.

Hmm thought I would try a little meditation to reset the frames. Even cut out some noise static just unplugging a few things. Honing a few things but I'm still on the go. On my game and expanding my frame.

That's why the odds are so close.

Chris has dogshit cardio now though too, look at his last fight. Uriah is still strong in r3. If this makes it out of r1, livebet the fuck out of Hall imo.

I think Hall probably cracks him ala Reyes, but not quite as fast.

Hall survived the ground vs acj so I don't think he insta dies if weidman gets him down either.

Full disclosure I'm still transitioning in translation. But if I were to predict the finish I'm to assume I slow my rotation and remain at my station. Finished or not I'll be sitting still for a bit, I'm enjoying this game and don't plan to quit.

Parlay of the week

#UFC261
UFC 261, Saturday, April 24, 2021
Jacksonville, Florida

parlay
+212

Dwight Grant -240 "The Body Snatcher"
Kamaru Usman -410 "Nightmare"

Zhu Rong -250, 14 years younger
Valentina Shevchenko -380 "Bullet"

Some tweets I saw:

Zhu Rong made his professional MMA debut 19 days after his 16th birthday. He had 5 fights in his first year as a 16 year old too. He's a 21 year old fighter with a record of 17-3

Wuliji Buren finished Zhu Rong w/ a RNC R1 at Chin Woo Men (2017)

April 2019: Dwight Grant walks out to "Victory" by Puff Daddy, the Notorious BIG and Busta Rhymes

August 2020: "Unofficially, Dwight Grant landed 31 significant strikes in that round. In his two fights that have gone the distance, Grant landed 38 and 25 respectively"

December 2020: Dwight Grant announces positive COVID-19 test

April 2021: Dwight Grant "working with Jeremy Stephens"

Is that the same Jeremy Stephens from the nonsense of last week with shove during the face off? if so i am not sure if i am going to trust Grant here.

Hall survived the ground vs acj so I don't think he insta dies if weidman gets him down either.

I think Weidman has a better control wrestling game than ACJ, ACJ might be more of a direct sub threat but Weidman is great at moving from position to position once on the mat.

Hall looks to have improved his first layer of defence guy he's definitely susceptible to the single leg.

I think it comes down to the jab of Hall vs the single leg of Weidman.

Hall definitely has the durability and cardio edge these days but Weidman isn't likely to gas if he's getting to play his game and Hall doesn't make him work to keep the top position.

Already parlayed Usman and Crute big.I have a high opinion on Crute and think he is gonna run through Smith unless he get's caught in a choke but i think he is aware of that and won't happen.Don't like the Shevcenko odds.Gonna play Weilli but not big,Rose has a good chance.

I like Rose at +180 and I'll play Usman decision again. I doubt this fight goes much different than the first.

Yeah if anything I'm more comfortable with usman decision than the first time cause I"m not as worried about the risk of masvidal gassing out badly due to short notice, though the price is worse as I got it almost +200 or so the first fight.

Been up too long and it feels like I've barely scratched the surface doing research for this one. Lots to learn, looking forward to more progress.

I almost forgot about those being live. You know those boys from the south really love a good party, bet we are in for a hell of a show from the UFC
