The crazy thing is the stark differences in how different areas are dealing with this exact issue. Florida seems to be setting itself up for a massive collapse imo. Here in Canada, theres apparently a new law where if some one contracts covid due to direct contact with you (e.g being at their house) and possibly dies as a result, you are subject to manslaughter charges. A bit extreme for sure, but really makes you think about the flipside in places like Florida, ppl should be having some serious concern over the lack of seriousness.
And at the same time we have multiple mass outbreaks at Amazon's distribution centres in Brampton & Mississauga where our government knew about it for almost half a year and did absolutely nothing. Actually, that's not true, they helped cover it up for Amazon until the shit really hit the fan in the last couple months and they were finally forced to do partial shutdowns of those facilities.
I'd rather have the Florida model than what we're doing, which is pretty much healthcare theatre and blame the victim. We're not doing anything effective to control the spread while causing a ton of disruption and ruined lives.
