International [Arab-Israeli Conflict, v4] Israel Sets Goal of Doubling the Jewish Population on the Golan Heights

The Jewish owned media “tricked” into helping the Jews in their fight against Palestine. Yeah sure, lol.

Israeli strike destroys Gaza building with AP, other media

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — An Israeli airstrike on Saturday targeted and destroyed a high-rise building in Gaza City that housed offices of The Associated Press and other media outlets. AP’s president said the agency was “shocked and horrified” at the strike.
AP staffers and other tenants safely evacuated the building after the military telephoned a warning that the strike was imminent within an hour. Three heavy missiles struck the 12-story building, collapsing it in a giant cloud of dust.
For 15 years, the AP’s top-floor office and roof terrace were a prime location for covering Israel’s conflicts with Gaza’s Hamas rulers, including wars in 2009 and 2014. The news agency’s camera offered 24-hour live shots as militants’ rockets arched toward Israel and Israeli airstrikes hammered the city and its surrounding area this week.

The building also housed the offices of Qatari-run Al-Jazeera TV, as well as residential apartments. The Israeli military said Hamas was operating inside the building, a standard explanation, and it accused the militant group of using journalists as human shields. But it provided no evidence to back up the claims.

It's so cool to see in real time how deception can be used in warfare. We normally only think of things like equipment, training, and morale.

Funny how it's the opposite of what happened in Vietnam, where communist forces can just tune in CNN to see the field reporters attached to the U.S military announce exactly where U.S troops are deploying, and adjust their guerilla tactics accordingly.

Unfortunately for the Hamas fighters buried under "the Metro", this was not the case.

Israel Gaza conflict: Air strike targets Hamas leader
15 May 2021

The Israeli military says it has bombed the home of the political leader of the Palestinian militant group Hamas in a wave of air strikes on the Gaza Strip.

It released video of an exploding bomb which it said had hit the home of Yahya Sinwar, the group's overall leader in the territory.

Israeli air strikes in Gaza killed at least 33 people early on Sunday, officials there said.

Militants fired rockets at Israel, with a new barrage on Sunday afternoon.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to "continue to respond forcefully" to rocket attacks. Israel has recorded nearly 3,000 rocket launches since Monday.

A UN Security Council meeting is set to take place later on Sunday and the 57-nation Organization of Islamic Cooperation is holding virtual emergency talks.

US President Joe Biden phoned Mr Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to express concern about the situation on Saturday.

Since the fighting began on Monday at least 181 people have been killed in Gaza, including 52 children and 31 women, with 1,225 injured, according to the Hamas-controlled health ministry. Israel says dozens of militants are among the dead.

Ten people, including two children, have been killed by militant attacks on Israel, Israeli officials say.

The flare-up of violence over the last six days came after weeks of increasing Israeli-Palestinian tension in East Jerusalem, which culminated in clashes at a holy site revered by both Muslims and Jews. Hamas - the Palestinian militant group that runs Gaza - began firing rockets after warning Israel to withdraw from the site, triggering retaliatory air strikes.

How heavy were the overnight bombardments?
Israel's military said it had struck the homes of both Yahya Sinwar and his brother Muhammad Sinwar, whom it described as head of logistics and manpower for Hamas.

Both residences had, it said, "served as military infrastructure" for Hamas.

Local sources confirmed to media that the Hamas leader's home in the Gaza town of Khan Younis had been bombed. There were no immediate reports about the fate of the two brothers.

Multiple air strikes rocked Gaza City during the night, with dozens of people reported missing under the rubble of homes, said the BBC's Rushdi Abualouf in Gaza.

"I have never covered air strikes with such intensity, explosions are everywhere in Gaza, there are difficulties in communicating with officials to find out where the strikes are," he said on Twitter.

"The building in which I live in [the] western part of the city shook like an earthquake," he said. "A hysterical state of chaos, children and women in the building that houses more than 200 people screaming."

According to the Hamas-run health ministry, 33 people were killed and 50 injured in Gaza overnight, with eight children and 12 women among the dead.

Shortly after noon, rockets were launched by militants in Gaza against Ashkelon, Ashdod, Netivot and other parts of central and southern Israel, according to Israeli media. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Some 120 rockets had been launched overnight but there were no reports of serious injuries.

What are the prospects for a ceasefire?
Blaming the militants for the conflict. Mr Netanyahu said strikes would continue for "as long as necessary" and everything possible was being done to limit civilian casualties.

On Saturday, the Israeli military blew up a tower block in Gaza City used by international media after issuing warnings to evacuate it.

President Biden told Mr Netanyahu he continued to support Israel's right to defend itself. He expressed concern over deaths on both sides and called for journalists to be protected.

Speaking to President Abbas, the US leader said he was committed to "strengthening the US-Palestinian partnership". He also said the Hamas rocket fire into Israel had to stop.

President Abbas, who is based in the occupied West Bank, has little power in Gaza but the US will not speak to Hamas, which it regards as a terrorist organisation.

Mr Biden told both leaders he remained committed to finding a two-state solution to the conflict.

US envoy Hady Amr is having talks with top Israeli officials including Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz on Sunday.

Ahead of the Security Council meeting, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres reminded all sides "that any indiscriminate targeting of civilian and media structures violates international law and must be avoided at all costs".

EU foreign ministers are to discuss the conflict in video talks on Tuesday. German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas urged Israel and the Palestinians to resume talks.

"What is needed now is: 1. an end to the rocket attacks, 2. an end to the violence and 3. a return to talks... on a two-state solution," he tweeted (in German).

Pope Francis urged the warring sides to "end the clamour of weapons and to take the path of peace".

"Many innocent people have died, amongst them there are also children," he said in a weekly address to the Catholic faithful gathered in Saint Peter's Square. "This is terrible. Unacceptable. Their death is a sign that [people] don't want to build a future but destroy it... I wonder where hatred and revenge will lead?"

Pro-Palestinian protests were held across the world on Saturday, from Europe to the Americas. In central Paris, police used tear gas and water cannon to disperse an illegal demonstration while in London, nine police officers were hurt during clashes with protesters outside the Israeli embassy.

Lol. I love the accusatory nature of the wording. So they expect Israel to explain their Intel and collaborator network to the world so Hamas can adjust and eliminate collaborators?

So we’re just supposed to blindly trust Israel just because they said so?

International media is NOT happy at the possibility that they may have been used, LOL.

IDF is sticking to the script that the fake news that lured all those Hamas fighters to their doom is a "translation error", but I don't think anyone is buying it.

Israel accused of tricking major news outlets into reporting a fake Gaza invasion to lure Hamas fighters into tunnels that were targeted for massive airstrikes
By Julian Kossoff

Reports in the international media that Israel had entered Gaza to battle militants are being viewed by some as the result of a ploy to lure the fighters into defensive positions that made them targets for Israeli airpower.

On Thursday, news that Israel Defense Forces troops were massing at Israel's border with Gaza was widely reported. Then, early Friday in Israel, an IDF statement prompted news outlets to widely report that an invasion had begun. However, it gradually became evident that an attack did take place but did not involve Israeli troops entering Gaza.

Nir Dvori, a military reporter for N12, one of Israel's leading news networks, described the original IDF statement as disinformation meant to prompt Gaza's fighters to enter the tunnel system, known by the IDF as "the metro," to prepare for street battles in the enclave.

"The IDF makes Hamas think that a ground operation is beginning, which causes the organization to bring in all its fighters, including the Nahba, the special force of Hamas, to go down into the tunnels and prepare for combat," Dvori wrote.

"Then for 35 minutes, 160 planes hover over Gaza and drop 450 bombs, which are over 80 tons of explosives, on the entire Gaza 'metro.'"

In London, Michael Stephens, a Middle East specialist at the Royal United Services Institute, echoed that conclusion. He told BBC Radio 4's World at One news segment that it was "a very smart tactic to make Hamas move into the tunnels and get all their preparation ready so that the Israeli military could target them."

The move marks a major escalation amid this week's violence between Israel and Palestinian militants. The region is facing its worst violence since the 50-day war in 2014. The Israeli military has bombarded Gaza with airstrikes, and Hamas — the group that controls Gaza — and other militant groups have fired more than a thousand rockets toward Israel.

The Israeli media has noted the possibility of a disinformation strategy in the Friday-morning attack, with The Jerusalem Post publishing an article with the headline "Did IDF deception lead to massive aerial assault on Hamas's 'Metro'?" and the Israeli newspaper Haaretz publishing another titled "Israeli Army tells foreign media it has ground forces in Gaza — then apologizes for misleading them."

Foreign correspondents and reporters had received a WhatsApp message at 12:17 a.m. that seemed to inform them that Israeli ground troops were in Gaza. But then, two hours later, the IDF started to disassemble the message.

Felicity Schwartz, a Wall Street Journal correspondent covering Israel and the Palestinian territories, wrote:

Steve Hendrix, The Washington Post's Jerusalem bureau chief, added:

The IDF has blamed the confusion on a translation error, but Dvori was among those skeptical of that account, describing it as "not a mistake, but a planned ploy whose role is to help eliminate Hamas."

Dvori noted that Israeli security officials had previously threatened that the tunnel system used by militants in Gaza would one day become their "mass cemeteries."

A frustrated Daniel Estrin, NPR.'s correspondent in Jerusalem, expressed frustration, told the New York Times:

"If they used us, it's unacceptable. And if not, then what's the story — and why is the Israeli media widely reporting that we were duped?"

Insider has approached the Israeli Embassy in London for comment.

LMAO, I love it.

So we’re just supposed to blindly trust Israel just because they said so?
As opposed to generally trying to push the narrative that they are liars and bombed the building for reasons "because"? Letting the crew in the building get out and film it knowing the shitstorm it would bring to hit that building?

They aren't going to give up names and Intel of their collaborators or give any dots for hamas to connect to figure out who snitched them out

It’s hard to feel sorry for the media.

One minute they’re in love with burning shit down and blowing shit up, see antifa or BLM. Next, they seem to have a problem with it.

Not that long ago, that same excuse was used against the Jews. Remember, today marks the 78th anniversary of the ending of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising.
