Your own link says they are center-left and mostly factual so that doesn't really support your assertion that they have a terrible reputation and are only trusted by the far left.

Personally I am not a huge fan, I don't think they are as bad as you are saying but I prefer to get my news from elsewhere. If I do read them it will usually be in a case where they're the best source for a given story or a certain story is really big on the news and I will read WaPo alongside a few other newspapers to get a a general picture of the story and how various factions view it.
