International [U.S COVID Vaccine News] CDC to Lift COVID-19 Testing Requirement for international Travelers

Propaganda. If the media just dropped covid from here on out, you wouldn't even know it was a thing anymore.
Big time. All the people with viral pneumonia I saw coming in waves admitted into the hospital were probably all paid crisis actors. It's all fake. I can tell they were fake patients because I've never seen waves of viral pneumonia patients come in the summer and spring, they got paid by CNN. You're totally right.

Looks like Florida picked up another 21000 COVID cases in the last 24 hours, its single largest day so far. Cities are losing capacity to field 911 calls. Wonder how long DeSantis plans on holding out.

Florida is like the most predictable trainwreck ever. I think most people in this thread saw this coming months ago when they realized DeSantis is insane.
Florida just reported its highest-ever number of daily COVID-19 cases and has become the new U.S epicenter for the virus
More than 110,000 positive COVID-19 cases were recorded in Florida in the past week

Florida has broken its record for daily COVID-19 cases, reporting its highest one-day total since the coronavirus pandemic began, according to new numbers from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Federal health data showed that the state recorded a whopping 21,683 new cases on Friday. The news makes Florida the new COVID-19 epicenter in the US, according to the Associated Press.

The pace of new infections in Florida appears to be rapidly rising; the state recorded just 17,093 cases the previous day and just 13,256 one week before that.

Previously, Florida's highest number of daily cases was 19,334 on January 7, 2021. Though CDC figures show a spike of 30,531 cases on January 2, that figure actually encompassed January 1 as well, according to The Palm Beach Post.

In just the past week, confirmed coronavirus cases in Florida spiked by more than 50%, according to state health data.

The Florida Department of Health said in a recent report that it recorded more than 110,000 new cases from June 23 to June 29. In the week prior, there were about 73,000 cases reported.

For weeks, Florida has marked continuous surges in the number of positive coronavirus cases. The counts have risen so much that one out of every five coronavirus cases in the United States now comes from Florida.

Amid the rise in cases, Gov. Ron DeSantis has repeatedly criticized mask guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which last week urged vaccinated people to now wear face coverings indoors.

On Friday, DeSantis signed an executive order that barred schools from mandating kids wear masks.

"The federal government has no right to tell parents that in order for their kids to attend school in person, they must be forced to wear a mask all day, every day," he said.

DeSantis brought the point home during a press conference, saying both he and his wife are "not going to do the mask with the kids."

Weekly case counts in Florida are beginning to match some of the worst weeks for the state in the history of the coronavirus pandemic. State data shows that the new coronavirus cases in the past week either match or surpass the rate in January — before vaccines were widely available.

he’s taking a political gamble that’s short sided. Any Decent campaign advisor Would tell him to put the brakes on.
He’s gambling that the base he needs for Possible presidential run will come out for him if he stays the course..problem is he’s torpedoing Florida in the process. He’s already receiving major fuck you from Florida business organizations and tourism.
The worse this gets and longer he runs this into the ground ,the more of a spotlight on his failure. (Or lack of) COVID policies.

it’s no coincidence fox and the righty talking heads are starting to advocate the vaccine and COVID precaution measures now..they know where this is going, they see the writing on the wall.

A bit more on viral load equivalence between vaccinated & unvaccinated; Singapore study found that although both groups had similar viral loads (assumed from ct values), at the point of first test, after a few days the two groups start to diverge, with vaccinated people [mRna] showing a faster reduction in viral load, ie. a faster clearing of the virus:

Remember also that PCR by itself is not a determination of infectiousness, and simply a detection of viral RNA. Its very possible that the viral load of vaccinated people represents neutralised virus particles with a different degree of itransmission potential compared with unvaccinated who are less likely to have the same neutralising antibody response (none if they havent had a prior infection).

Althought it's a proxy measure as you say, it's interesting. Thanks!

This could be 100% avoidable because studies show you are 25x less likely to be hospitalized if you are vaccinated

This means instead of 10,000 people, you could have 400 people in the hospital.
In the real world, much less than 400 because the infection occurs less 8.3x less frequently in vaxxed individuals
So that is 400/8.3 which is 48 hospitalizations. Even among the 48, itll likely be less because vaxxed individuals still shed less.

But the difference is 10,000 hospitalizations vs 48 hospitalizations with vaccines

@MoparOrNoCar @EndlessCritic @foxnewsfan Do you guys need @Madmick to translate this warning to your native language, since you are clearly unable to comprehend it?

I will remind the forum that this is not a thread to spam shitposting. We have two other megathreads about the vaccines and lockdown for that.

Bring discussion of evidence, including citation of it, or do not post in this thread. Do not clutter the thread with personal spats or partisanship. I will be cleaning out posts and posters who fail to abide.
Thank you.

When Biden closes the southern border I’ll believe it’s serious.

For some near deranged reason your country still has it’s northern border closed to “non-essential” travel, despite the fact that, as usual, Canada has much more to be concerned about coming in from the US than the other way around.

Propaganda. If the media just dropped covid from here on out, you wouldn't even know it was a thing anymore.

By “the Media” I assume you’re referring to national reporting only, considering the situation in the rest of the world is significantly less positive than that of our wealthy nations.

Another day, another new record for Florida.
Sunday COVID-19 update for Florida: over 10,000 current hospitalizations
BY DAVID J. NEAL | AUGUST 01, 2021

The Associated Press, using data reported to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, reported Florida had 10,207 people hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 cases Sunday. That would surpass the previous record from July 23, 2020, more than a half-year before vaccinations started becoming widespread, when Florida had 10,170 hospitalizations, according to the Florida Hospital Association.

Florida is now leading the nation in per capita hospitalizations for COVID-19, as hospitals around the state report having to put emergency room visitors in beds in hallways and others document a noticeable drop in the age of patients.

In the past week, Florida has averaged 1,525 adult hospitalizations a day, and 35 daily pediatric hospitalizations. Both are the highest per capita rate in the nation, according to Jason Salemi, an associate professor of epidemiology at the University of South Florida.

The hospitalizations and increasing cases have come as the new, more transmittable delta variant has spread throughout Florida, and residents have returned to pre-pandemic activities.

Saturday, the state of Florida reported more new COVID-19 cases to the Centers for Disease Control than any previous day in the coronavirus pandemic: 21,683.

That was a 12.1% jump over the previous record, Jan. 7’s 19,334 cases during the worst month of the pandemic. Daily case counts routinely surpassed 10,000 as the pandemic peaked a second time. In the succeeding months, daily case counts returned to 2,000 and 8,000.

By comparison, on the last day that the state released COVID numbers on a daily basis — Thurs., June 3, 2021 — there were 1,878 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 1,792 people hospitalized and the state’s percent positivity had decreased from 3.33% to 3.15%.

The very next day, the state announced that it will no longer update its COVID-19 dashboard that tracked the number of cases and deaths in the state. Its daily COVID-19 cases and vaccine reports also stopped. The state said it would, instead, post weekly reports on Fridays, Florida Department of Health Communications Director Weesam Khoury told the Miami Herald.
