Military Roll Call! Veterans, GTFIH!

@Dan O, I believe @My Spot was in the U.S. Marine Corps. Enlisted. E-6. Not sure of his MOS, I don't think it was Infantry. Not sure if the guy deployed or not. This is not his first argument with military folks in here. Refer to post #5663 and @Darkballs comments.

@My Spot, dude, these stupid arguments you seem to start are really annoying. Just let it go and let it be. No one is going to post their DD-214 on this site. Frankly, I don't think most folks really care. We all had our experiences and did our part. You had some good posts in the past. What happened to that?

I’ve got nothing but respect for my fellow service members, past, present, and future. If the guy did his service honorably I can’t say the first negative word.

I don’t believe I’ve ever had another vet question my service.

I wish nothing but the best for him.

So, you are the guy in the video?
Did you read the link I sent to you?
Where you involved with drugs after you left the military?
Yeah, I feel your pain. We are loosing an average of 23 veterans a day to suicide.
Have you looked into VA legal assistance with your issues? There is also non-veteran health assistance at the state and federal level.
Look at all the free medical assistance our illegal immigrants crossing the border are getting from Joe Biden.

Yeah I am the dude in the video.
I’ve stopped keeping track of how many ship mates that have checked out early since I got out. It’s too depressing to think about the number.

No sir, no hard drugs for this guy. Did coke once, seemed awful. Would not recommend. I can’t even stomach beer these days. I drink some seltzers and enjoy some d8 products. That’s about it.

Drug free is the way to be. But those prescription drugs shouldnt be ignored. I hope you can find some peace out there and not have to argue with sherdoggers. Thank you for your service.

You'll have nothing but love from your brothers and sisters here man. You can always reach out if you need someone to lean on.

He got caught lying.

He got caught lying.
Where was he caught lying?
. He was awarded E-4 after boot camp - U.S. Navy.
. No NJPs. Not all NJPs are an Article 15, but all Article 15s are a NJP.
. Honorable discharge.

@Dan O, I'm not sure why you had issues with the VA. Maybe you should try a different location.
What exactly did the U.S. Navy do in Iraq and Afghanistan? You mentioned something about a base construction project. I was U.S. Army, so I did not keep up with the U.S. Navy or U.S. Air Force. I know we had a few of you 'boys' switch on over to the Army for a bonus during the infamous 'Stop Loss' period. I believe it was the same for the Air Force. I think they called it 'Blue-to-Green.' The Army also had direct commissioning into the Infantry for NCOs. No OCS program. Recruitment standards were lowered to meet quotas and we got some 'bad' apples. I'm sure there were some good apples in there too. We now have very few NCOs in service with combat experience - combat patch. It is a whole new generation of inexperienced soldiers.

You can't get graduate boot camp as an E4 in the sea services. No ifs, ands, or buts. It's like when Mike Armyquit said the Army made a special 18 month contract just for him.

I googled this for a min and someone on Reddit said the Navy can meritoriously promote leaders during A-School to E4.

Just some random shit I read. Dunno if true.

From a CG perspective, if your A school is long enough to get your minimum time in to make 4, and the rate is critical (meaning you go right to A school out of Boot), it is possible to to make E4 before you ever hit the real fleet.

Haven't seen any meritorious advancements while in A school in the USCG.

There were reserve programs that can also get you a quick E4.

Not sure how Navy does it.

That's with a longer contract and not boot camp.

Huge difference between A school and boot.

Boot could be 2 months C school another 2.5 months. "A" school another year on top of all that. I can see Navy waiving someone to E4 after 1.5 years in.

The question is did he get it while inside the first 2 months of service which would be surprising.

That said I dont see why it warrants such a heated debate.

If someone told me they made CPL right out of army basic i would probably believe them even though I dont think its possible. Its more of the fact that I wouldnt want to waste the time looking up the regs on how it happened.

Well the difference is you actually can graduate BCT/OSUT as an E4.

Lol new policy, if you’re unvaccinated in the military
(Maybe everywhere?) you now must wear a mask even outside at ft Bragg.

It’s summer in the south..

The DOD cannot force vaccinations without presidential emergency orders. So they’re pressuring service members with a bunch of bullshit policies. Which are obviously set to “encourage” service members to get the vaccine.
