International [U.S COVID Vaccine News] CDC to Lift COVID-19 Testing Requirement for international Travelers

Lmao, this is so true too. Midwits are those who rush to get it without thinking, just smart enough to be annoying but not enough to think for themselves "I trust authority figures; they know what's good for me," (Oof, yeah right). Then people who are actually intelligent are going to think about it and come to their own conclusions.

I don't understand, why are all these people taking up precious hospital beds now when they don't trust actual doctors?! Why not just stay home and continue self-medicating with their miracle cures?! o_O

The US is averaging 100,000 daily COVID-19 hospitalizations for the first time since February
By Jake Epstein | Aug 30, 2021

The US is averaging over 100,000 COVID-19 hospitalizations a day for the first time since February, before many were eligible to get vaccinated, The New York Times reported on Sunday.

In the past two months, hospitalizations across the country have increased by nearly 500%, The Times reported. Florida claims the country's highest hospitalizations tally with 16,457, the US Department of Health and Human Services said.

The Times reported that this month, one in five American ICUs reached or exceeded 95% capacity.

"I've never seen anything quite like it," Shannon Byrd, a doctor in Knoxville, Tennessee, told The Times. "It's bringing whole families down and tearing families apart. They're dying in droves and leaving surviving loved ones with a lot of funerals to go to."

Byrd said the vast majority of the people hospitalized with COVID-19 were unvaccinated.

Meanwhile, deaths have climbed to 1,000 a day for the first time since March, the report said.

A forecast from researchers at the University of Washington found that the US was on track to record another 100,000 COVID-19 deaths by December 1, adding to the more than 637,500 deaths recorded.

Experts told the Associated Press that the prediction can fluctuate based on people's behavior, and some said mask-wearing in public spaces could cut the predicted death toll.

"Behavior is really going to determine if, when, and how sustainably the current wave subsides," Lauren Ancel Meyers, the director of the University of Texas' COVID-19 Modeling Consortium, told the AP. "We cannot stop Delta in its tracks, but we can change our behavior overnight."

Belgian study: Moderna vaccine creates twice as many antibodies as Pfizer
By Justine Coleman | August 31, 2021

A study into the immune responses of the two mRNA COVID-19 vaccines found that Moderna's vaccine created twice as many antibodies as the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

Researchers analyzed the antibody levels of Belgium health care workers after they received both doses of the vaccines, including 688 vaccinated with Moderna and 959 who received the Pfizer shots, in the study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association on Monday.

Among those who had not been previously infected, the Moderna recipients averaged 2,881 units per milliliter, compared to the Pfizer recipients who counted 1,108 units per milliliter.

Participants who previously contracted COVID-19 reported higher antibody levels, raising the overall average among all participants to 3,836 units per milliliter for Moderna and 1,444 units per milliliter for Pfizer.

The antibody levels in those who received Moderna were higher in infected, uninfected and across age categories, according to the study.

The researchers said the difference in antibody levels could potentially be attributed to the higher mRNA content within the Moderna vaccine and the longer interval between the initial and second shots. The second vaccine of Moderna is given four weeks after the first shot, while the Pfizer vaccine is administered three weeks following the initial shot.

The antibody testing was conducted before vaccination and six to 10 weeks after the second dose. The study found the levels to be negatively correlated with age in those who hadn't been previously infected, with the highest antibody levels among those younger than 35.

This research follows a preprint study released ahead of peer review earlier this month that suggested that the Moderna vaccine's effectiveness against mild infection dropped to 76 percent while the Pfizer shot fell to 42 percent in July when the Delta variant had taken hold in the U.S.

That preliminary study from the Mayo Clinic emphasized that both vaccines still are highly protective against severe infection and hospitalization. The research was also accompanied by a notice that the early findings "should not be used to guide clinical practice."

In the U.S., more than 94 million people are fully vaccinated with the Pfizer-BioNTech shot, and more than 65 million are fully vaccinated with the Moderna vaccine. Another 14 million have received the single-dose Johnson & Johnson shot, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

No surprise since it’s almost 2x more concentrated.

The people on the right are also gullible and falls for anti-vaxx hoax

The middle also includes credited doctors, scientists, and scholars

If I were making a dick analogy, if you had twice as many dicks in your ass, it is safe to assume your butthole would be twice as blown out. I hope science figures out how many dicks are required to totally blow out a sphincter so I don't have to get double dicked every six months.

Does this mean it lasts longer without the need for boosters every 5-6 months?
Who knows at this point? I suspect it means Moderna immunity lasts longer than Pfizer but jury is still out on how long either lasts. Immunity isn’t just about antibodies. It’s also about memory cells.

The CDC that those vaccinated early are at greater risk for severe Covid? Greater risk?

Is this how vaccines are supposed to work? Greater risk?!

She means that the earlier vaccinated people's immunity is now waning (earlier than expected) but their behaviour has regressed and remained back to near pre Covid.
That they’re now not as protected as at the beginning / middle and they need to be more careful.

People about to be vaccinated are most careful.
Anti vaxxers are shunned.
But the old vaxxers are going everywhere and being welcomed yet they might be not as protected as they think hence the risk is they might be spreading it more than most.

Context, motherfkr......dost thou knowest it ???

So the vaxxines don't work?

So the vaxxines don't work?

Not every vaccine lasts a lifetime.
Especially these new ones.
As time passes and we gain more understanding of this pathogen, we’ll see longer lasting ones.

I know it’s useless explaining thus to you because you want to be purposely obtuse but this is more for the silent readers that haunt these pages.

My best friend's brother-in-law just died of Covid. He was not vaccinated. His wife was vaccinated, she had mild illness.

Sucks

You should go pound his wife as soon you’re able and then post about it here.
These anti vaxxers should know. Don’t get vaxxed....possibly die then have your wife rolled by a Sherbro.
All because you’re an idiot.

If this pandemic has proven one thing is that if we ever get hit with a high mortality virus like in Contagion we are 100% fucked.

Sucks.

Reports from Chicago and North Carolina within the past five days have both confirmed that unvaccinated people are 15 times more likely to die of Covid. Five times more likely to be hospitalized.

That is being borne out over here also.
In Ireland over the last four months 96 per cent of the covid deaths were amongst the unvaccinated.

Vast majority of Covid-19 deaths now come from minority of population who are not inoculated against the disease.

Almost 96pc of the Covid-19 deaths in Ireland over the past fours months have been among people who were not vaccinated.

Just 4.5pc of the 155 adults who died with Covid-19 since April were fully vaccinated, deputy chief medical officer Dr Ronan Glynn has revealed.

Dr Glynn today reminded the public that “vaccines work” adding that of the 169 adults admitted to ICU with coronavirus since April, just 3.5pc were fully vaccinated.

This is despite Ireland’s vaccination rate of 78pc of the adult population and 60pc of the entire population. The figures show that the vast majority of people getting into serious difficulty with the disease are coming from the minority in the population who are still not vaccinated or fully vaccinated.

"When we see cases of Covid-19 in vaccinated people, we need to remember what we are not seeing,” Dr Glynn said.
"What we don’t see is the very many more infections, hospitalisations and deaths that have been prevented by vaccination.

"Of course, no vaccine is 100pc protective and some people who have been fully vaccinated will still get infected with, and get sick from, Covid-19.

"However, the individual risk of a severe illness or death is much lower than if they had not been vaccinated.”

Dr Glynn added that although uptake in Ireland for vaccination has been “fantastic” many have still not been vaccinated.

“Vaccines work,” Dr Glynn added. “They are about 80pc effective at preventing symptomatic Covid-19 disease and they provide approximately 95pc protection against hospitalisation – and this protection against severe disease holds up even in the context of the Delta variant.”

Yesterday, another 1,819 cases of Covid-19 were confirmed by the Department of Health.

As cases and hospitalisations continue to creep up over the past few weeks, it is the highest number of daily cases since the end of January.

There are currently 206 Covid-19 patients in hospitals, of whom 36 are in intensive care units.
