Alberta is the strangest anomaly in canada, great higher end education yet the general populace is some of the dumbest people i have encountered in my life who passed HS (i have lived there twice, as well as bc and sask).

For those who don't know, Alberta is the closest thing to a "red state" we have in Canada. They were doing well and then foolishly decided to open up completely for the summer and remove all COVID prevention measures. Now COVID cases have spiked, ICU's are full and doctors are starting to face the prospect of having to allocate their ICU's and basically choose who lives and who dies.

Yet anti-vaxxers still choose to cling to that sinking anchor that vaccines are bad and it's all bullshit. Despite the fact that, every day, we're seeing real world evidence that vaccines are safe and protect people from ending up in ICU's or dead.

Joe Rogan told his millions of listeners that you shouldn't get the vaccine if you're healthy and exercise. Just take zinc and let your body fight it off naturally. But the second he got it, he ran to his private team of doctors so they could "throw the kitchen sink" at it. What happened to fighting it off naturally?

At this point, especially up here in Canada where our healthcare is funded by tax dollars, I think ICU's should be reserved for people who were smart enough to get the vaccine. Let anti-vaxxers fight the virus at home. That's what they said they were going to do, right?

The news sources are literally scouring the Earth for stories like that. It's "victory porn" to forced vaxxer types to laugh at and get off on the schadenfreude.

Representation bias will now make the unlearned commoner think: "See? See? That's what happens when you are unvaccinated and unmasked!"

Think about how many millions of people who have her philosophy and you'll never hear of them because nothing happens.

Also, think of all of the people who do every single thing by the book and they die of COVID. Only difference is, the media won't put out stories like "Vaccinated, double-vaxxed, hygienic, cautious, lady dies of COVID-19".

The difference is that unvacinned people die from covid much more often, this is obviously pushing a point but its a point thats pretty demonstrably correct in the face of a culture of ignorance.

Jesus, Christ, imagine typing something like that as if not taking a moderna shot means you're a bad mother. Hell, imagine feeling the need to write a news story about each individual person who died of pneumonia so a bunch of angry people can jerk off thinking about someone who doesn't share their politics dying.

I mean even if it's true, why the hyper-focus on those particular deaths? So many people dying and the media wants to sensationalize specific deaths that are perpetuating hyper-partisanship and deepening the politicization of a fucking pandemic.

It just adds fuel to the conspiracies, mainly big pharma using the media as a medium to market their products

Why ? Cause is completley nullifies the entire point . If your young and healthy , you statistically don't need to get the vaccine. Your at a low risk . that's not saying don't get it .
