Bellator 267: Lima vs MVP 2

Crazy how Lima is the dog now, +105 / +110 depending where you go. I guess the narrative that he's now on the decline is very accepted, time will tell if it's true.

He didn't seem very engaged or interested in the Amosov fight as he accepted bottom position over and over again without putting up much of a fight and lacked the urgency to try to get back up. His striking was also unimpressive even when the fight was standing (I felt the same way about the Mousasi fight). I don't think Lima has improved at all since the last time he and MVP fought. I gave the striking edge to MVP in the first fight and always felt that Lima got lucky with the leg kick leading to a pretty flukey KO. Lima also did nothing with his takedown. After getting taken down so many times in his last two fights, I get the feeling that Lima just wants to strike with MVP. If Lima commits to taking the fight to the ground, he will certainly have the advantage. However, I don't trust Lima's fight IQ and current headspace. If the fight remains standing, MVP will win.

I don't have any trust in Lima after his last performance. I will always take motivated fighter.

What are people's thoughts on a juiced favorite parlay consisting of some combination of Trainer, Long, Kakhorov, and/or Grant?

Accepting bottom position is a tendency BJJ guys have against superior wrestlers.

If the Amosov fight is the only reason why people are betting MVP, who has no grappling upside, has lost to Lima before in humiliating fashion, and is KO or bust… Idk, I’m not high on Lima or anything, but MVP at favorite odds is crazy.

The stock was pretty damn high on Lima before he lost to Gegard, Like people were saying he would give the top 5-10 UFC WW’s a run for their money.

Lima by decision is an obvious pick here IMO, but since this IS bellator and I can’t even add Lima to parlays, I’m just simply adding my input.

call me crazy, i think if lima and mvp fought 10x, mvp wins 7 of 10.

I think we saw the rare exception where lima capitalized on mvp acting a fool.

MVP will be more cautious after being knocked out. Fight goes the distance @ 2.60?
I think it goes the distance, aldo I can't find better then 2.20 on my bookies it'still good as I think it should be around 1,80

Going with chiara penco +115 just because this is on during the day and her nickname is the beastly Barbie.

£120 MVP / Lima GTD +170 to win £204

I think Lima is technically more sound. He can still time his leg kicks to stifle MVPs offense, and if they get close I still think Lima has the grappling advantage. (How he won the first match)
So everything should point to Lima winning.
I'm still not sure if the fight goes the distance or if it ends early though.
I'm betting on Lima, but not a big bet haha.

Main card starts in 10 minutes.

Random: I just ate a burger and fries at #SaltBae here in Istanbul. Both were trash. So disappointed.

Landu reminds me of Melvin Guillard. Blacksplosive in R1, then falls apart in Rounds 2 and 3.
