I like Yamasaki, but he does let fights go too far sometimes. Herb used to be one of the best, but he has been a bit screwy recently. I will say, reffing is much harder than people think. If it were easy, very experienced refs wouldn't mess up like they do.

Herb should have at least done the "lip arm" test before calling it, but even then thats not enough (Lawler vs Askren)

You don't know that it wouldn't be enough, more times than not you'll get a good indication if the fighters out or not. All refs check the arm real quick if they're not sure. You can't go by what the other fighters telling you. Ben vs Robbie was the exception.
