This is one of the many sensible reasons to avoid immediate rematches. The loser needs time to recover and develop a new approach.
Zero chance Nunes beats Val at 135 if Val is champ even on her best night.Let Shev demolish Pena again and then give me the trilogy fight vs Nunes. Thats the only way i will care for that division in the next few years.
Dont know if you heard the news but Nunes beat Shev twice at 135 lolZero chance Nunes beats Val at 135 if Val is champ even on her best night.
Combined with how much of a counter striker Val is and just how low volume a fight like that is going to be and the typical judges, remember same judges as boxing, that give close rounds to champs I just don't see a scenario where Nunes takes it.
Honestly that scenario would set it up to potentially dethrone Ngannou vs Lewis as an all time top 10 worst fight in UFC history.

These days it seems like dominant champions are almost guaranteed a rematch when they lose. It's almost a lock Usman, Israel, and Volk or even Valentina would get a rematch.I don't want to see the rematch just yet but if Conor can possibly get yet another title shot then certainly Nunes should get a chance to redeem herself.
