People forget DC never lost a single round at HW.Jones made the greatest UFC heavyweight wrestler do this.
Never taken down, never lost a single round.
Until he faced Jones

get the fuck out of here fatassWorthless emotion based babble.
I love how you all pretending Jones is gonna be the same speed at HW lol
Yep, it's hard for an athlete, especially later in their career, to carry extra weight that he's not had most of his career. Tendon strength develops much more slowly. This is how a ton of athletes have gotten injured, by putting on size for the sake of size.
And even if he manages to stays healthy, he's going to only be able to check two of these boxes:
- Size and strength
- Speed and explosiveness
- Cardio
- Testing clean
This is the key. Jones was at his best when he was faster, longer, and more versatile than all of his opponents. You know what moving up a weight class and adding 40lbs does? Removes all of those.
I hate Jones lol but I could see it. He won't have the strength and speed advantages he had at lhw but it was not these things that kept Ngannou from getting Gane, I was some basic footwork and low power leg kicks. Can definitely see Jones playing Gane's game in the first 2 rounds without the white belt jiu jitsu and wrestling deficiency
When did Jobes struggle against Shogun?! He absolutely besmirched him.
When has Jon gotten on his bike and circled for an entire fight? His strategy is to stalk and take the centre of the cage, batter you from the outside, hit you with his medium range weapons if you try to close the distance (elbows and knees), or fuck you up in the clinch if you back up to the cage. I don't think any of this shit is going to work against Francis. Jon will eat a ton of shots. He's shown a good chin so far, but if anybody can crack it, it's Francis.
Ahhh, my mistake and roughly agreed + deleted. He said he struggles against fighters that are NOT those guys. Meaning Jon dominated guys who were much smaller in stature. Jon's most impressive wins were grinding out a tough decision against prime Gus, and the two wins against DC. Daniel has a thicker frame than Jon, but Jon had a lot of reach on him. He won't enjoy such advantages against Francis.
For all.his faults, Jones is good at game planning and strategising. He has just seen Ngannou undone by some tiny leg kicks, which Jones has utilised to good effect in the past. He can definitely do that as well as Gane did last night without being useless against the cage/on the mat
