Best hotel to stay at in Vegas?

Don’t go gambling all your Tri Met bus fare at once now.

Where you flying from? I usually have free rooms all over the strip, but that's a pretty good deal if flights are included.

Montana. Tried all of the Montana airports, Bozeman was the cheapest.

I'm guessing you already have an MGM rewards account, but if you don't, wherever you stay be sure to get an account with whatever their rewards system is - you can probably even set it up before getting to the hotel, then can print your cards when you get there. If you have any interest in going to vegas even semi regularly, you're crazy not to - I've always got free or highly discounted rooms at half the casinos on the strip via rewards programs.

I’m going MGM Grand based on your requirements. It’s mid tier and wont kill you on price but still pretty nice. There are about a million exits to that place though. So you could walk out one door and be right on the strip, you could walk out another and be 15 minute walk to the strip.

Excalibur, Luxor, NYNY aren’t worth it. Steep decline in quality for not that much less.

Mandalay is actually my favorite place to stay but a few have mentioned, it’s a long walk from the strip. It’s the very last(or very first depending on your direction) hotel so if you want to be in the middle of things then it would be the worst choice. I just love the massive casino and general atmosphere there.

I have one and even for going only once a year or so it’s worth it. Got a massive discount on my room at Aria this November

Has anyone stayed at the Treasure Island? Wife and I are thinking of doing a weekend in Vegas at the end of September for our 10th wedding anniversary. We went in 2011 and stayed at MGM but we want to stay somewhere more central this time, and Treasure Island has a better price right now compared to other central ones like Mirage, Caesar’s or Bellagio for the weekend we’re looking at.

Treasure Island is fine. Its comparable to Mandalay bay or Mirage but maybe slightly more dated. It renovated the lobby not too long ago so might have a few new things. Pool is pretty Meh. It has a few bars/lounges inside but they are usually for older folks (which is fine if thats your crowd)

Dont go to senor frogs on sunday morning lol. TI also have a buy one get one free promo but try all the rate packages cause some can be cheaper.

Treasure Island is one of the best bang for your buck hotels in a good location and free parking (if you plan to rent a car). I say do it if you're on a budget, however there are other ways to get cheap hotel rooms such as playing MyVegas games and building enough loyalty points to get a free rooms (especially on weekdays). The last time we stayed in Vegas my wife got 2 semi-free (just had to pay resort fee) nights at Bellagio. Then the next day we stayed at Mandalay using my MyVegas for another room while having to just pay the resort fee.

I agree with others about always using your players club including charging everything to your room. They will often give free comp rooms even if you're not a big baller. Many will use both methods to get multiple free nights as well as credit card deals/tricks to get higher status via matching and making use of specific credit card perks such as Amex Plat fine resort $200 credit which includes free room upgrade, early check in, 4pm late check out, $100 credit and free breakfast. It's much harder to get status (via credit card) now a days and I think the only current way is to get a Wyndham Rewards Earner Biz Credit Card to status match to Caesar Platinum (online) and MGM Gold (in-person) and then later you can get Hyatt Explorist.

Stayed there a few years ago, it's definitely dated and the rooms show it. It's a good location but if staying somewhere that feels clean and nice is important it's probably not your best option.

If you want cheap good food especially late night check out our Chinatown. It's not too far from the strip and has a ton of good restaurants.

Going to Vegas for a weekend in November. Haven't been there since I was around 17 so about 11 years ago now. Stayed at the MGM grand last time. Looking to stay at a fun hotel that isn't too spendy because I won't be there too much. Looking at the Mirage, Mandalay Bay, New York New York or maybe Excalibur or the Luxor.

Any suggestions?
Based on what your wants/needs seem to be, I'd recommend The Linq. It's affordable and right in the middle of all the action. It's an older hotel, but it was recently completely remodeled. The rooms are on the smaller side, but since you said you won't be there much and don't want to spend a ton of money on a room, this is where I'd recommend. The Linq Promenade is also a really cool feature.

How does the whole MyVegas games thing work? You just download it and do you pay to play some of the games or is it all free and the more you play the more you earn rewards?
