I guess, but that weight miss was huge man. Huge. Not to mention the questionable weigh-ins he had in Abu dhabi.

I'm just not a fan of guys being rewarded with high profile matchups after missing weight.

I also just think he'd perform better at MW.

While I would love to see Khamzat put a beating on Colby, I agree 185 is best for him. A fighter that relies on ferocity and overwhelming guys with wrestling isn't helping himself with such a huge cut.

But off the top of my head, Costa, Yoel, Gastelum, Till, Khabib, etc. all have missed weight by a lot and were allowed to try to make weight again

Costa: weight-class was moved up prior to weigh-ins, has never missed weight

Yoel: Missed by 2.7 and then 0.2 (LOL)

Gastelum: Missed by 2.75, then 10 and was forced up next fight. Skipped weighing-in against Cowboy and was forced up again

Till: Missed by 6 and then 4.5

Khabib: Missed by 8.5

Maybe a bit of a precedent there, but still a BS precedent IMO.

We're just gonna disagree on this, but I think weight cutting is hard and sometimes shit happens... they had a shorter camp because they wanted to fight Nate and they fucked up... to make someone go up 15 lbs. because they fuck up once is way too unforgiving IMO

And I agree that things can go wrong during a cut, which is why I don't care about 1 lb or a half pound or 0.2 pounds for poor Yoel, but 8 is of a magnitude that suggests something beyond ordinary issues IMSO

Khamzat has never missed weight at WW before the Nate fight and has more fights there than MW (in the UFC).


Khamzat is a welterweight until he officially moves up.

Colby is totally baffling to me. There is really nothing about his style that sticks out as being overly impressive yet he gets it down more times than not. He is just a cardio machine who is really tough. I think the buck stops with Khamzat though. I really think Colby would get outclassed but I still think Khamzat is a bit hyped more than he should be. I am right up there with everyone else who says he could be great, but the Burns fight slowed me down. Burns is great in his own right but Khamzat still didn't look all that great even considering how underrated Burns is. I wish Burns would go back to lightweight by the way.

Masvidal attacked him from behind and Colby was right to press charges but Colby is also acting ridiculously by pretending to be injured when he wasn't even knocked down. He is faking an injury to try to sue and it's not likely to work out for him. No jury will agree he was seriously injured, he's just sitting out and forgoing potential big paydays. He'll probably lose money on the lawsuit on legal fees alone.

His lawyers conned him into thinking he could win a major settlement because they want his money, don't ever trust a lawyer on lawsuits they want everyone to sue because you suing makes them money.

Having great cardio and being tough is typically enough to win fights. In boxing it's called being a swarmer, just push a pace your opponent can't maintain and break them down.

This situation is much worse and far more serious than you realize.
