What do you think of the new Superman suit?

No word on an Apache Chief movie down the line? As a little kid (figuratively and literally), he was my favorite of the super friends.

Also, I'm a fraternal twin, so the Wonder Twins can be a thing too. As long as Gleek is included. James Gunn can pull it off.

Oh, and get Plastic Man on the big screen before marvel hits us with another Reed Richards.

Oh, and for magic, bring in Zatanna, rather than bringing back Dr. Fate.

Oh, and John Stewart > Hal Jordan.

Lastly, Solomon Grundy > Bane

I don't watch any of the CW / "Arrowverse" type shows that there is a bunch of them and they have been running for a long long time. Presumably people watch them and they make money.
I wouldn't call the Arrowverse shows a success, especially during the later years. Despite having abysmal TV ratings and terrible critics and audience reception, these CW shows continue getting renewed because they continue getting money from their Netflix deal and other international sales.

Basically, it's the same situation with the Black Adam movie. It's box office flop (Fact) but will probably net a slight profit from ancillary revenue from home video, international sales and streaming.

Warner Bros. Reportedly Scrapped Batman Movie Starring Michael Keaton That Was Supposedly a BATMAN BEYOND Movie

The DC news just won’t stop this week, and this time it looks as though a Batman Beyond movie was put on the chopping block.

First reported on The Hot Mic with Jeff and John, it seems that Warner Bros. Pictures has opted to not move forward with a Batman film project that was set to star Michael Keaton. The supposed project was also being written by Christina Hodson who previously wrote Birds of Prey and the upcoming The Flash.

Following the initial report, Umberto Gonzalez of The Wrap confirmed that the project was actually set to be a live-action take on Batman Beyond. “FYI @TheInSneider, the “solo” Michael Keaton Batman movie you’re talking about that Christina Hodson was writing, was in fact the BATMAN BEYOND movie.”

The exact person at Warner Bros. who supposedly canceled the project has not been confirmed as of yet. There is speculation for everyone from James Gunn all the way up to Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav.

There has been a lot of fan support for Keaton to take on the role of an older Batman training up a young Terry McGinnis in a live-action film. If we were to hazard a guess as to what may have potentially stopped it, one would have to assume the budget for such a film would be massive. With Zaslav currently trying to cut every cost he can, it’s easy to imagine that he would see this as too high of a risk.

Not surprised, as they supposedly cut back on his time in flash and Batgirl was scrapped, but a batman Beyond would've been schway.

*Sigh*

Black Adam, starring The Rock, lost money.

So of course they're revising all of their 'risky' projects. But given the success of The Batman and there's a big audience hoping to see Keaton back as Bruce Wayne... I think it'd be a big hit but I understand their perspective that they don't want to take the risk.

Really makes me wonder what's the future of the DCEU is if their next movie or two bombs... including the next movie with Henry Cavill as Superman.

It might be the first 'Expended Cinematic Universe' to be unceremoniously cancelled with no resolution.

Black Adam didn't feel like it was geared for a sequel in my eyes, despite the Superman add-on. I thought it was going to lead into Shazam 3, if anything.

After seeing how awesome Gunn has been I’m excited for him running the DCU.

I didnt even know they were making a batman beyond movie.

I know this isn't a very apt comparison, but this really seems like a corporation in panic mode, after a pyramid scheme bottomed out.

"Cancel everything! My god, it's over! We're fucked! No, I can't give that client any money! Stop asking! Do you understand what's going on here?!?! The jig is up!"

Well the Superman with Henry Cavill was "announced" with no actual work on it so unless it gets approved by Gunn and Safran. It may not happen. And the flash will likely bomb because of Ezra, Aquaman 2 should likely be a success based off the first. Shazam is a toss up.

Lame. I would have got down with Batman Beyond if they stuck to the original premise. DC can't cut a break. I heard from people that they didn't like Black Adam because too many fight scenes.

I don't know why they can make an awesome storyline for the DC animated series but they can't live action it with a way bigger budget.

Might as well cancel the DCEU now then.

They're going to have to rely on somehow generating buzz. As of now the only sequels that are practically guaranteed to make big profit is Joker 2 & The Batman 2, and they're not even in the DCEU.

Was 'The Suicide Squad' considered a success?

Besides that, they need to bank of Henry Cavill's star power for whatever movie Superman is in next.

Basically, they have to pick their steps very carefully as they tip-toe through this minefield.

Batman Beyond would have been great. Heck, terry learned how to fight by being on his high school wrestling team.

Now DC just seems to be stalling

Warner Brothers is basically Yamasaking the DCEU instead of calling it a day.
