International U.S. arms left in Afghanistan are turning up in a different conflict

Jocko was correct...

Haha. I engage in meaningful debates here but rarely engage the trolling guys just looking to argue... if you speak any other languages I'd love to hear them... outside of the ones you may have learned in school... I don't know many here that think of you as a rational poster though I gave you props on occasion for posts... again... not many agree it was the right decision and all you say is but Trump... just leave it bud.

It's just the reality of the situation.

"The Trump administration in February 2020 negotiated a withdrawal agreement with the Taliban that excluded the Afghan government, freed 5,000 imprisoned Taliban soldiers and set a date certain of May 1, 2021, for the final withdrawal."

So not only did he set the withdrawal timeline, did nothing to adhere to it, he also freed 5,000 terrorists for nothing. Trump handed the Taliban Afghanistan on a silver platter. By the time Biden took office, US troop strength in Afghanistan was only 2,500.

He had to push the date back 3 months and send more troops in just to accomplish what we did. Trump had 4 years to work on this, but Biden had just a few months.

Again... we could do what we wanted... and chose the direction. To say it was the right move... not many agree. Also... I didn't agree with Trump on Syria and don't say he shouldn't have prepared better... I'm not all in on a guy if he may have policy that aligns.... presidents are a mixed bag.. not everything one does is wrong and not all right either. With the polarization of politics it would seem so but not true. Later bud.

You keep saying these empty phrases that mean nothing. "We could do what we want" lmao

Trump himself said that by the time Biden took office there was nothing he could have done to stop it.

To achieve the outcome you desire it would have taken years of prep work that would have needed to be started years prior to 2021. It's basically a fantasy.

We had two choices, get out and see what happens, or stay forever.

Ok then... you implied I'm a racist but didn't respond to any of my language questions nor did you think inwas anything but a redneck......if you don't think we could have pushed back and done what we want then you are lost... just leave it fatty (in bruges line)..

I didn't imply you were racist? I implied you wouldn't be willing to just accept tens of thousands of Afghans, which you agreed you wouldn't if they weren't vetted first.

Saying you know some foreign words doesn't mean you can't be racist. What an incredibly dumb thing to say. You're basically saying you have a black friend so you can't be racist, lmao.

All I'm saying is, most of the people upset with the outcome, would not be willing to take the necessary steps for a more favorable one. They wouldn't want to accept tens of thousands of refugees, they wouldn't want to send more troops and money to sort things out, and they also didn't want to stay forever or at least until we were sure the Afghans could stand on their own feet.

I don't know what any of this has to do with the topic or why you even brought up it originally. lmao

I never tried to call you racist or imply it. I assumed, correctly, you wouldn't be willing to accept tens of thousands of Afghans into the country within the timeframe we had to work with.

Because you asked about bringing folks here... which I'm ok with... but if I had said otherwise I would be labeled. Instead... nope... nee hun fan... (mandarin for you are annoying). Later bud. You made assumptions that you can't back now. So in the end it is what it is....

You weren't okay with it, you said they needed to be vetted first and seem oblivious the amount of time it would take in a place like that.

Bathing my boys now... just let it go.

What!?!?... lol.

First on CNN: US left behind $7 billion of military equipment in Afghanistan after 2021 withdrawal, Pentagon report says
https://www.cnn.com/2022/04/27/politics/afghan-weapons-left-behind/index.html

WashingtonCNN —
Approximately $7 billion of military equipment the US transferred to the Afghan government over the course of 16 years was left behind in Afghanistan after the US completed its withdrawal from the country in August, according to a congressionally mandated report from the US Department of Defense viewed by CNN.

Dude... Please

I know about that Pentagon report mentioned by news sources.

Your very own quote says :

transferred to the Afghan government over the course of 16 years was left behind in Afghanistan .

"Transferred to te Afghan" government = it is not in the possession of US forces.

Ahh yes cnn the notoriously right wing media. Along with the Pentagon ....... come on now.

Washington(CNN)Approximately $7 billion of military equipment the US transferred to the Afghan government over the course of 16 years was left behind in Afghanistan after the US completed its withdrawal from the country in August, according to a congressionally mandated report from the US Department of Defense viewed by CNN.

This equipment is now in a country that is controlled by the very enemy the US was trying to drive out over the past two decades: the Taliban. The Defense Department has no plans to return to Afghanistan to "retrieve or destroy" the equipment, reads the report, which has been provided to Congress.

The US gave a total of $18.6 billion of equipment to the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) from 2005 to August 2021, according to the report. Of that total, equipment worth $7.12 billion remained in Afghanistan after the US withdrawal was completed on August 30, 2021. It included aircraft, air-to-ground munitions, military vehicles, weapons, communications equipment and other materials, according to the DoD report.

"US transferred to the Afghan government over the course of 16 years "

Transferred to te Afghan gov. = not in the possession of US forces.

Because you say so?

How about Forbes?

Reuters?

Would you like a list?

I am aware of the CNN report. Those articles you cite all say this:

Approximately $7 billion of military equipment the US transferred to the Afghan government over the course of 16 years

The weapons the Taleban got were from the Afghan gov.

You're on a roll.
You sound like one of these weirdo Qanon freak making shit up.
If you got evidence that what I said was wrong I am happy to admit I was wrong.

"US transferred to the Afghan government over the course of 16 years "

So...... 7 billion of equipment was left for the Taliban.....

What are you even arguing?

If you're point was remotely valid we would be claiming 18.6 billion

It wasn't left for the Taleban by US forces. Why is it soo hard for you guys to acknowledge that the Afghan gov and ANA are not US forces.

What was the US supposed to do, totally neuter the ANA? If Biden had done that all the GOP / rightwing would be saying he backstabbed US interests and the Afghan gov., and made the ANA sitting ducks for the Taleban.

The argument here is on what US forces left behind, not what the Taleban got from the ANA.

The US purposely leaves everything behind so they have an excuse for new contracts to get more, everything the US does is corrupt and rigged
