Seems reasonable. Werdum did improve his striking significantly over his career and he did try to use it so there's a chance he may have attempted to stand with Gane and gotten ko'd but on the whole werdum by sub is way more likely.

I’d like to see Gane one more time vs some lighter competition to see how his TDD or ground game works. If the next opponent takes him down and wins easily, Gane is done.

Of course he is not. Where did I say that champ? I just said that maybe Gane had a bad night and broke under pressure. Either that or he is as horrible on the ground as he appeared to be and the next fight will probably show that for good.
