Media Dana White says that Israel Adesanya is "blowing my phone up" wanting another fight soon

I believe him....

he wants another title defence quickly before Khamzat beats Costa or Alex decides to go back to MW.

If the UFC book him quick it will be someone not that good like DDP and another easy title defence for Izzy.

Who says you have to take Dana at his word? Actions speak loudest, and look at Izzy's activity as champion. He won the interim belt in April 2019 and including that fight he's fought 10 times between then and April 2023, all championship bouts. He's far and away the most active UFC champion.

It helps that he is not married and doesnt have kids so most of his focus is on his career unlike most other champs who have families and outside interests (also he NEVER gets injured, that doesnt get talked near as much as it should).

He is not cool. But is a hell of a fighter and one of the most active (if not THE most active) champion in a long, long time. He can continue being an obnoxious nerd for all I care, provided he keeps up with this kind of schedule.

Izzy is married to his 2D waifus. It's a much bigger commitment than 3D wife and children, the other champion just aren't good enough to handle it.

 
Rumor going around is that Adesanya asked UFC specifically for Strickland and for the fight to be ASAP. Eugene was on several podcasts recently basically saying that they felt Strickland was the "logical challenger". So unless UFC goes crazy with Chimaev or DDP we know what the next MW championship fight will be.
 
Izzy is the man.
UFC 288 and UFC 289 definitely needs some more steam to it, DDP isn't gonna be ready by then tho due to his recent nasal surgery.
So that leaves just Strickland who's maybe not the most deserving, however it's a marketable enough fight and he'll be willing to take it.

If they're not able to find a solid main event for UFC 290 then put on Izzy on there and maybe DDP will be available by that time, but a Izzy/Strickland isn't really intriguing enough in terms of headlining a international fight week card so idk.

Isn't it possible to appreciate his greatness and still not being a fan? Wasn't a fan of GSP either. Still appreciated the shit out of his greatness. I remember mostly rooting against him, but was still in awe when he won.

Same with Izzy. I was hoping Pereira would end him but the way Izzy won, holy shit. KO of the year so far.

See what I mean? It's possible to hate his ass and still appreciate how "cool" he is or whatever you meant by that.
 
Strickland has nothing for Izzy.

Du Pleisse at least has an x factor about him, despite being outclassed on paper.

Khamzat doesn't deserve it till he fights someone half-decent.

Rob probably deserves it the most.

Most of these nerds can't say anything positive about someone they dislike or a fighter who challenges their favey's status at all. It's bizarre.
