Would Islam Makhachev have finished Dariush as quickly as Oliveira did?

I couldn't agree more with your post. That's another reason why that KKF loss to Albazi bothered me - he lost 100K, his ranking and it hurts his earning potential going forward as it stops the payment escalator in his contract.

There's so much on the line in these fights and these opportunities are huge. That's why I stated in the PBP that despite everyone shitting constantly on both Gaethje and Poirier when they're asking for them, they are right to keep pushing for title shots after every win, even if they don't get them. They know how important it is to their livelihood. Benny refused to. He shouldn't have.
