Multiplatform BALDUR'S GATE III

I really wish you could legit KO Minthara. She's an interesting companion, but not worth it for most players. If it was strictly trade Halsin for her instead of also losing all the tieflings, I'd do it. Despite the furry sex, Halsin has got to be the most boring companion in the game.

Apparently there's some mods that let you KO her then recruit her at MR.

It ended being that Halsin and Jaheira were my least played companions becuase their style is bland. Minsc too but that had more to do with getting him really late in the story. I did wish that the companions would have really diversify itself beyond the humans and elfbreed kind. We already have a tiefling and a half in the party but where are the drawves, half orcs and dragonborn in the game?

I tried to use a sussur flower (assuming that's what you're talking about) to cheese a fight that wasn't in the underdark and learned the hard way that they instantly wilt if you carry them around outside the underdark. Thankfully your camp chest is a magical refrigerator that preserves them and I have one left in there. I haven't gotten to the shar temple yet, but I'll try to remember the flower if I have trouble when I get there.
When I played beta, you can also have Glut as a temporary companion while traveling outside the underdark. His power was also not tone downed where he can have multiple corpses he can res as zombies thus making him the most powerful chracter to have in the game

Man....disappointed again...(As a BGI and BGII die hard)

Viconia was so stupid. It was the same problem as Sarevok. It disregards her whole story and ending. Granted, theres different endings , but why even include her? Its stupid, really. It could have just been any drow.

Still GOTY, though

Looking forward to using respeccs for a playthrough with Barbarian Jaheira, light cleric Halsin and Wild Mage Minsc.

Yea my next playthrough I'm going to be using a completely different team and classes. I'll also be dropping the difficulty all the way down as I want to try and feel as OP as I possibly can.

I just want to know how to keep Jaheira alive during the Moonlight Tower battle.
She's so damn fragile.

I read someone online say you can take control of her as like a summoned animal\zombie. Didn't see the option when I tried though.

Make sure to tell her to join you so you can control her as a temporary 5th party member. I had stay way way back and just use AOE's or some buffs.

I feel like I never got that option when I played because she never joined me other than as a random NPC. Then she runs head first into the enemy.

You can.

I did part of that.

She died.

One turn.

It was sad.

And kinda funny.

It's something in the conversation before the battle. I think you say something like "will you fight with me" and her first response is something about being needed elsewhere. But then you say "I really need you at my side" or something like that, and then she becomes like a controlled minion

Yup. You basically tell her to ditch the losers and come join the A-Team.

Then watch her die.

Also, you don't need her the whole way, when you're about to jump down the hole you can leave her as a conversation option. I don't know why people have so much problem keeping her alive though, just stick her in the corner or something. The Ketheric Thorn fight was pretty anti-climatic to be honest for a big baddie. Isobel also didn't recognize me later on even though I saved her ass from being kidnapped by Marcus Angelguy at the Light inn earlier.

Honestly, every boss fight is kinda underwhelming when you're a pally with all your spell slots and the insane crit buffs you can get from the worm.

Ottos irresistible dance has become the OP spell in the game imo. It's straight up nuts to have the boss just start cutting a jig and then the polearm pally with 3 attacks blasts 3 crits on his head. You're doing over 100 damage in 1 turn easily. I almost want to play a fallen paladin on my second playthrough. They're just so good. Best weapons, best armors and then insane single target damage.

Found a cool little trick for the Moonlight Tower battle.

You can greatly reduce the number of foes in the 1st battle by simply killing half of them before you ever rescue Nightsong. As long as you don't attack anyone while in that 1st room, and you don't get spotted by one of those eyeball things, just kill everyone in the side rooms.

So far I've killed everyone in the area just before the jail, the entire jail itself, the Gnolls in the kitchen, the bedroom off the main area, the dock, and the outside before the entrance. Also the halfling merchant and the 2 people doing target practice (they saw me looting one of the bodies in the side room without the door).

All without turning the place hostile. Nothing quite like selling the Bugbear all the equipment you've just looted off his dead buddies, at nearly 100% value no less, buying stuff at 1/4 the normal price, and having him tell you to keep slaying. Lol.

I don't have a paladin on my team so I wouldn't really know, although I have seen people raving about his abilities. I have Otto's dance as a scroll, but I paid no real attention to it, just thought it some joke spell. Gotta admit I've been pretty uncreative in fighting battles though, I'm mostly just doing straight forward damage. Haven't been really forced to find other ways in terms of lateral thinking. I'm gonna guess I'm not the only one hoarding special potions and scrolls for the 'special' battles and ending up never using 99% of them.
