Were you impressed by Khamzat Chimaev performance?

As soon as he fights anyone decent he becomes a boring blanket with zero damage and zero subs. But the nuthuggers take a while to fall off.

I think he has a mad adrenaline dump cause he comes into the fight so damn hot - if he finishes someone in the first round then cool it doesnt matter, but if the opponent makes it through he just doesnt have the same fire afterwards. If he would just calm the fuck down and come in at like 75% instead of 100% he would fare a lot better.

Not impressed, but that doesn't mean he can't beat higher ranked fighters. Strickland for one is an easier fight, Strickland may not have gotten out of that 1st round. Same with Edwards.

The pressure and grappling he shows early in every fight is impressive and it’s tough to deal with. But this fight showed again he becomes less impressive if you make it past that. He’s still not easy to beat though. Only very good opponents will make it through that initial onslaught.

Great 1st round. But after that nothing special striking-wise other than power and super questionable cardio. Absolute joke if he gets a TS over DDP.

His wrestling is on another level. Super impressive

What is really surprising is the striking. I think he needs to work om this. Try change Coach or do something

The first round surge, of course, is always amazing. The second round it looked like Darren Till taught him his winning "feint a bunch and throw nothing" strategy. If they manage to get Khamzat vs Strickland done relatively soon, I see Khamzat gassing and getting finished in the championship rounds, unless he finishes Sean quickly.

I was really dissapointed with khazmat. First round 4,5 min on back off usman and did nothing.
Second round he gassed and mostly do nothing.
Third round also.
It was boring fight.

it was impressive to see him dominating usman on the ground, but that was a two weeks notice, moving up usman.


on the feet he looks decent and nothing more, i think he would have his hands full with any top5 MW

A full camp for Usman and he would finish ratlip.

I'm his biggest fan, his wrestling takes a lot of energy, he does not have the cardio to use it and his striking is not good.

Problem is that while he’s suspect on his feet he’s absolutely smothering on the ground. People acting like Usman is some scrub…many fighters without the wrestling base and excellent defense in the ground would be subbed by him. He may not be the most fun to watch but he’s a tough out for sure.
