The Usyk fight will answer if Fury is still there.
No proof but I do think that the combination of Fury starting with cocaine again, not being a gym rat with a great work ethic and he took a lot of damage during his career ... makes him look like shit and Usyk KOs him.
But at the end its Fury, he can look like a top 100000 boxer and in the next fight like an elite fighter.

Why did Ngannou make more money in that one fight than in all his previous UFC fights combined?
It seems like any half decent UFC fighter wants to cross over into boxing (McGregor, even Khabib wanted to, etc). Something doesn't add up, does it?
Also, Fury did not get dog walked. Ngannou lost a close decision and it was a close fight.
But once again -- if boxing was in shambles, Ngannou would not be here and what Ngannou is doing is dream of any MMA fighter from your beloved UFC -- divorce Dana and actually have freedom and respect and make some money. So your claim is patently -- false.

IMO Fury was trying much harder than he planned to.
I think he initially wanted to clown Ngannou and carry him like Floyd did McGregor. But that plan failed miserably due to various reasons - like Fury not being Floyd, Ngannou being better & stronger than expected, entering the fight completely out of shape, and possibly also...

Definitely makes you ask yourself that question. But I also would like to see more fights by Fury and Ngannou against various opponents as those things are clearer in hindsight.

I doubt Ngannou would fight anybody random, he is looking for big money fights.
Wilder would be a blockbuster.
Whyte would be an entertaining fight but not a blockbuster. Ruiz would be very interesting.
I don't think AJ would want the fight but maybe.
Ngannou VS Wilder makes sense on all levels. Both are game, both are looking for the KO, great fight all around,

Oh, he tried. He was playing around a bit, obviously, which was stupid, but he did try. What I thnk he didn't do, is prepare properly. It looked like he hasn't sparred much, and certainly not hard sparring, because he was reacting to getting hit the way people do when they're not used to it. And that can't be solely attributed to Francis' punching power. He was also missing the target when the target was standing perfectly still.
He looked ok the first two rounds, then in the third - even before the knockdown - he was starting to look really bad. I wonder if the headbutt in the second round was affecting him, but it looks to me like there are other, more important reasons for his performance. He took this fight lightly. His whole team did. So they've skipped the hard sparring, among other things, because why spar hard when you're fighting a novice whose punches you can see coming from a mile away, right? Funny how it ended up being Francis who was throwing tight shots and Fury who was throwing wide and inaccurate ones.

37 and he performs like he is 30 and in terms of his cardio, it looked like he has several years of ring experience, to understand how to manage his stamina that effectively. Francis is 37 and won on points in his first match against the lineal champ in boxing. Fucking amazing and the whole world will be watching his next fight. Usyk who? Nobody cares, I want to see a rematch.
