How does the fight go?

intent has a lot to do with it, as we saw with the fury fight today, some people are just not temperamentally suited to certain things. As I read about Wilt Chamberlain once being a gentle giant and falling short of his potential in basketball because of it, "we're all victims of our personalities". I really don't think just anyone has it in them to poke out someone's eyes even though it's so simple. Hell, recently, in my town, we've had a ton of carjackings that were rebuffed because the criminal pointed the gun and was told to no. Well, good for the guy who's car they were trying to get but the point is, not everyone has it in them to be violent. You don't know until it's time to pull the trigger. In the case of the bodybuilder i mentioned, he had rage problems, most likely excacerbated by the roid use and just daily stress.

In the early days of the UFC, I used to be on forums where pro mma fighters would describe some real fight gone awry, I think the guy got his ear ripped off or some shit. Sport and life and death are not the same and they aren't really meant to be. Guys who intentionally maim their opponents have gotten banned out of mma as they should be.

Is it easy? I don't know, it could be if someone puts himself in the wrong position, it just isn't that hard to bite, to gouge or grab an appendage. I used to know a navy seal who showed me some very basic techniques, I told him, "that takes all the art out of it" and he shrugged and said, "that's what they taught us". This guy also claimed he'd kill an mma fighter, maybe he would maybe he wouldn't. Again, the intent might be so different that there's no comparison. And of course, forget about adding knives and guns into it. Someone who's killed someone already is gonna be able to do it with less hesitance the next time more than likely. And most boxers who've killed become more docile afterwards in the ring. Intent is totally different. And no, it's nothing to brag or be proud of. I'm of the belief that what we do marks our souls. You don't get away from that no matter who you are or whatever the motive.

Hahahaha Navy seals...

Watch a single podcast with an actual SEAL who saw combat like Jocko Willink or Andy Stumpf.. They all talk about how all the pressure point, eye gouging stuff they were taught was absolutely useless when it came to actual combat and how BJJ and MMA training is far superior because you can actually spar with your techniques.

Anyobody who has been in the Military will tell you the same thing. You can't train an eye gouge, it's all theoretical. You can train the sports that make up MMA and then add that theoretical knowledge in and use MMA to gouge eyes.

Hell we have even seen this in MMA with Yuki Nakai who lost his sight after an eye gouge in an MMA fight, won that and his next fight whilst massively outweighed before losing to RIckson Gracie at Vale Tudo Japan. The guy was 135lbs, lost his sight and still managed to fight on and win 2 fights.

It's all been seen before.

Heres one of the worst takes . Fury in 2 rounds

Vince is forgivable because hes 80s years old and doesnt follow MMA but Undertaker the MMA fan should have known better that Francis chin is going to last way longer than 2 round and that Fury isnt the powerpuncher that Wilder is

Do you at least agree that Gane did more damage in the 5th?
That's actually a good argument, need to rewatch. I don't remember either guy causing any significant damage that round, looked at stats and Ngannou landed 5 significant strikes vs Gane's 7, but had 2min44 sec of control vs Gane's 39 seconds. I mean we're splitting hairs on dog shit, lets be real that round was really lackluster. But I don't see that being enough to equalize control time. Although I'll say some interpret judging should strictly be strikes and damage first, and control after if they are equal. Ngannou has 13 strikes vs Gane's 7 in total though.

I said fury was going to jab Francis face off. And that is actually how he won by landing a lot of jabs, but man did I get that totally wrong on it not being competitive. All the credit to Francis and his team they deserve all the praise and love they are getting. Francis is a pure fighter in every sense of the word. I was totally surprised by his boxing skills. Dude is going to be ranked in top 10 this week. That is fucking insane. I’ll take my shit sandwich now.

That wasnt a robbery, close yes, but Ngannou clearly won 3-2, Gane ruined himself in the 5th going for the failed sub.

Do you know how to read?

This is the BOXING FORUM. I would tell you to read the description, but I'm wondering if you're capable of comprehending English and aren't just using google translate.

This is boxing forum IN MMA WEBSITE. Are you blind?

Fury never won the fight. Fury was saved by 2 corrupt judges.

AND dont forget the Fury not given point deduction from intensional elbow, my friend.

What Francis did against Fury, does not impact anything regarding him and Jones.

If he ran from Jones, he ran from Jones, irrelevant what he did with Fury. And if he didn't run from Jones, he didn't run from Jones, also irrelevant from what he did with Fury.

You said "What Jones said is still true".
Jones said Francis ran, which is far from true.

Honestly I'm so happy for Ngannou on a personal level. Seriously, what a great story he's had and his self belief paid off. I'm very sad we likely won't see him fight Jones, though.

Unrelated, but I'd really love to see Jake Paul fight Francis.
I want to see Conor have to fight Francis and I've been saying it for forever.

Clearly Fury had a bad night, didn't take the fight seriously, didn't train properly, underestimated Ngannou, was already thinking about Usyk, yet still won. Do a rematch over 12 rounds not 10, with a fully motivated Fury after a full training camp and I think it would be as one sided as most presumed it would be. That's Fury's fault ofc but if he thought Francis another 10 times he would win 10 times imo.
Well done to Francis for a great effort.

While all true, Francis will also be better for the rematch not being his literal pro boxing debut.

But I agree and for these reasons I am not interested in Francis vs Fury 2 or Usyk or Joshua because Francis' limitations will get exposed.

The only fight to make is Francis vs Wilder.

Okay, finished crying, now what do you think about Gane vs Ngannou?

Well here let me just say something stupid like you: based on what I saw I. Jones vs gane - gane was lucky he wasn't suited by Frank. The fight's over Frank won get over it.

Good post. It’s shameful how so many MMA fans/media trashed Ngannou’s choices but are now using his performance as win for the sport.
I don’t mind admitting I didn’t think he would succeed in even getting the fight, let alone looking this good in it. But I don’t really see this as mma’s win. Maybe a little I guess. But this is Francis’s win and his alone. I don’t mind admitting I was wrong, but definitely not going to try and hijack his win to save face.

Yeah a bunch of bozos and a guy with a cemented GOAT legacy who was 100% terrified to fight him. Frank dunked on all of them.

With the amount of pettiness that resides on the share broke forms I'm surprised we haven't seen every single Frank thread that was posted when he left the UFC being resurrected to make all the doubters eat it . I mean obviously we're talking about share Bros but some wild s*** was said about Frank

I am hearing a lot of talk about how sweet science is a bunch of BS, and boxers are overrated. Ngannou's great performance yesterday against the best heavyweight in the world was very impressive, but it can only happen in the Heavyweight Division. The absolutely freakish power and strength of Ngannou were enough to scare Fury to the point he was hesitant to let his hands go. He normally intimidates and ragdolls guys in the clinch but Ngannou was too strong for that. Imagine Volkanovski verse Crawford, it would be an absolute blood bath. The speed and skill difference would be frightening. Canelo versus Leon Edwards would be just as bad. If this fight opens the door for more cross MMA vs Boxing matches don't expect similar results.
