I know all about this story and the thread title is correct.

I don't care if the 17 year old intervened by helping another kid or not, that is no excuse for a dozen kids to savagely beat another kid to death like animals.

Once again you are screaming at clouds. The post I was responding to was asking why this was referred to as a "fight" then insinuated that this was a situation where the kid who was beaten was alone. He wasnt alone and the altercation didnt even concern him, he intervened. Which is incredibly brave and admirable, it escalated from there.

Stating WHY it was called a "fight" isnt excusing of any behavior.

Good Lord you're completely incapable of differentiating why things are reported with specific phrasings from your own worldview. It was a fight between multiple kids in which this kid became the a target after inserting himself into it. That's just why it was called a "fight."

Yes, if the violence is being attributed to a hate crime vs a jumping gone wrong. It matters legally. Duh.
