I get more annoyed with this, now we have a red monkey… just leave king out of it for a bit and give us a halfway decent monster movie. Godzilla Minus 1 just delivered an amazing movie, let alone monster movie and we get more garbage.
It will be best watched on fast forward to get to the monster parts.
Are we forgetting that the vast majority of Toho films are corny? I have no issue with the American movies taking the more fun side and the Japanese returning to Godzilla’s roots. It’s a win win in my opinion

Not at all, the Legendary ones seem to be torn and that’s what makes them bad. They make the kaiju parts very serious and then the human parts are so bad that it seems like no one is trying. Just give us a C level performance from the people and it would be watchable.

Godzilla vs Kong didn’t really take itself seriously at all. Godzilla 2014 was very serious but kind of boring. Do you mean they can’t find a tone to stick with?

eh, GvK took itself way more seriously than you’re remembering. imo, the only Legendary picture that embraced the camp more than the rest was Kong: Skull Island. it’s also the only one i’ve liked.

please don’t stick Brian Tyree Henry on a lame B-plot again like the last one.

didn’t know Dan Stevens was cast in this one. i’ll legit see this just because Stevens is working w/ Wingard/Barrett again

Looks cool. I do feel you can only go to that well with the Kong/Godzilla team-up fan service so many times before it gets old. Worked great when they faced off against Mechagodzilla in the last one so I’m hoping it’s not diminishing returns.

Jesus this looks so bad, I really wish they had saved this. We literally just had Godzilla/Kong team up to defeat the bad Godzilla and now we get them teaming up to defeat the bad Kong? This is lazy, they could have done this a few movies down the road.

Is this a Planet of the Apes movie? What's with pink Godzilla?

And was that some sort if Mech at the beginning.

They’ve really jumped the shark now. This is basically a marvel movie now.
There’s over 30 Godzilla movies that are just as corny. I swear it’s like people think Godzilla is just the 1954 one, Shin Godzilla, and Minus One. Those films are all great but there are so many films in the franchise that don’t take themselves seriously at all. Heck, even this version of Godzilla isn’t new. It seems to be inspired by Millennium Godzilla. Let the American franchise embrace the more campy side and let the Japanese do their thing too. Good time to be a fan of both

That arm belongs to Kong. It’s not a mech. Looks like he gets injured and receives some new tech. Also, Godzilla had pink dorsal plates before. Google “Millennium Godzilla”.

This looks like hammered shit.

Godzilla Minus One (the best Godzilla movie of my half-century life) showed that we can have Godzilla movies that are well written, intelligent and emotional. Why is it that we have to choke down this ridiculous crap, that looks like an eight-year-old who was hopped up on sugar cereal hallucinated a video game plot meant for five-year-olds? Kong's robot armor. The pathetic CGI. The buddy cop charge. Pathetic.

We don't have to settle for the lowest common denominator, so why can't they put a little and heart into these movies?
