It matters to the general public. That wasn't a memorable fight at all (apart from how awful it was). It was actually Wlad vs AJ that brought the heavyweight division back into relevance. You're only as good as your last fight, however, and Fury nearly lost to an MMA fighter making his boxing debut. AJ looked very good.
Andy Ruiz KO'd Joshua. Usyk went 12 with him twice. So.... Ruiz > Usyk? That doesn't seem right.

Got knocked down got up and KO the world champ in his 19th fight
Who was closer to losing to Wlad, Tyson or Joshua? The guy who got dropped hard or the guy who barely got touched?

Yeah but Ruiz was more exciting. Thats what counts.
Did Joshua have to stink the joint out to beat Ruiz in the rematch? No. It's not his fault that Ruiz came in even more out of shape. It was a boring one-sided fight but nothing like Fury vs Wlad was. Those two hardly even threw a punch.

Wilder really blew it. Fans waited 8 years for Wilder vs AJ and now we're not even going to get it.
Dude waited 33 fights to even go after Stiverne. You'd think someone coming off an Olympic medal wouldn't take 33 fights and 7 years to do that lmao

Fury really should have a stoppage loss on cuts to Wallin. The guy AJ just tooled up and made quit in his corner.

You make it sound like Fury boxed beautifully and made Wlad look real bad with skill
He did make Wlad look bad.
Wlad was on an 11 year win streak. It was an impressive win, whether we thought it was exciting or not.

If it happened I wouldn't have argued against it. I don't think you can really say either way though

Fury benefitted from A-side treatment that night. There's no doubt it would've been stopped if he were the B-side. That's one of the nastiest cuts I've ever seen in any fight (boxing, MMA, or MT/kickboxing) and it was pouring into his right eye.

Some awfully convenient apologia for Wilder going around.

Spends his whole career fighting bums and the elderly, and then when he finally loses to decent competition 'he just got old'.

Guy has always been very flawed fighter. And his resume ultimately sucks. Getting badly beaten by a 100-year-old Luis Ortiz and then pulling it out of the fire is not a legacy.

Honestly, Furys undefeated record has more question marks than the riddlers cat suit.

Def should have a loss to John McDermott, could have been ruled knocked out against Wilder, then the cut against Wallin,
