Unless you're from Chutebox. They way those guys fight and deal with adversity you can tell it's a normal thing.Going at 100% is completely different. Not even hard sparring can compare

Seems odd unless there's somewhere don't know. Snipes has pretty serious training also. Was it gonna be mma or kickboxing? Some of these guys can actually fight and don't normally compete
I mean.. Brett Rogers came to Strikeforce after his Walmart tire shift & proceeded to knockout some big name heavyweights in MMA. Probably lots of dudes like that around the worldPat was on Rogans podcast and he mentioned some dude who would walk in to his gym with hunting gear on. Take them off, walk in to the training area and proceed to own every UFC fighter on the floor. Then he would leave and go about his business. Dude never competed because he had no desire.
Are there lots of unknown fighters who can own famous fighters but have no desire for fame?
Makes sense now. Rogan isn't gonna trade with him.He mentioned MMA saying he was kickboxing in the morning and BJJ at night.
Well actually just one.I mean.. Brett Rogers came to Strikeforce after his Walmart tire shift & proceeded to knockout some big name heavyweights in MMA. Probably lots of dudes like that around the world
As much as we all desire to be competitors ourself that dream might go out the window then second we get punched in the face.I agree but its crazy that someone with insane level of talent has no desire to compete. My Taekwondo/Tang Soo Do sensei was a young dude in his early 20s. The most insane footwork I have ever seen + crazy kicking ability that he also brought from Taekkyon. But kicks aside, his footwork was out of this world. Looked like he could float on air.
One day, I was teaching him boxing techniques and dude already had that world class snap with his hands. Yet, no real desire to compete in any forms of combat sports despite footwork and freakish kicks due to flexibility, coordination and fast twitch muscles.
Yeah, damn you Andrei! Can't believe he's still fighting now. I thought his career was over at that point lolWell actually just one.
Damn you Andrei.
As for the topic sure probably yes but as long as it doesnt happen on tape it doesnt matter.
You have to have a certain ambition and ego. Friend of mine is quite the talented writer and painter, never had the desire to publish anything besides impressing women with it in private. Guy is also smart and very well educated but never finished uni and is working in a kids club making coffee and cleaning the place.I agree but its crazy that someone with insane level of talent has no desire to compete. Is anyone saying they have NO training? I wasn't interpreting it that way.Sounds like some hearsay fan boy stuff that has grown with the telling. No doubt though there are world champions out there we'll never see for a whole bunch of reasons but I doubt these dudes are fucking up pro fighters with minimal or no training. It's just illogical.
A similar but better story was told, I believe by werdum, doing A seminar in south Eastern Europe somewhere. And this local guy who was a regional legend from fighting in the various wars and conflicts stepped up to werdum and apparently gave him the fight of his life (I believe grappling only)
As werdum related it, the guy was a literal savage.
I will try to find the source it was pretty intense

I'd love to read that.
I think they point is they'd be unknown outside the gym.Yeh it's not no training, but pro fighters are in the gym like 5-10 hours a day, 5 days or more a week. A dude doing a few classes a week just doesn't compare and anyway if someone was doing as much training as a pro or even a busy amateur then they could hardly be unknown. They'd be an institution at the gym.
I hope you find it. That sounds like a great story.Re: the story, I'm trying to find it, but having no luck on mobile. I'll try harder on the computer tonight so I can cover more ground. I'm sure it was when werdum was training in Croatia with crocop (he had started a gym in Spain or Portugal or something as well) but iirc the story was on location in a different Eastern euro country
