They put them through escalating stress and trauma, stripping away their abilities to govern themselves (and their abuse usually comes after building up great trust, first, which just increases the inability of the victim to trust themselves and make good decisions). Predators also look for ways to have power over their victims because that radically increases their ability to inflect abuse, stress and trauma.

I had a quick read and it seems a pretty strong case for coercion and abuse; the sexual relationship begun consensually but definitely turned into something morally and legally wrong.

He’ll settle out of court for many times more than the 3m initially agreed, I would imagine 10-15m is very likely given the substantial evidence and current climate towards these types of behaviors and offences.
