Operation Anaconda: The Battle of Roberts' Ridge

A war documentary that covers a Ranger QRF helicopter sent to Takur Ghar, a mountain ridge in Afghanistan to rescue SEAL and Air Force Commandos. The Ranger QRF helicopter is then shot down on a mountaintop by Al Qaeda. The surviving Rangers buckle down and hold their position until fighter jets and a CIA drone are able to strike Al Qaeda bunkers. I liked in the documentary how the mountaintop position would periodically be displayed on a 3D map. It was a nice touch

You missed my point, it wasn't that I feel bad for them getting shot at, it was feeling bad for them for not getting to shoot back after hours of GQ and getting a little payback: they're not being allowed to do what they do.

Seems that's being fixed now...
. I did. Why are they not able to shoot back after hours of GQ? What is the U.S. Navy waiting for? A ship to be sunk?
. Being fixed? Why was it broken to start with? Sounds like Lloyd Austin might have been involved.

Vietnam War: Tales from Nam (2021)

The introduction of the documentary is Marine Corps Private First Class Eugene Sledge also known as Sledgehammer, born in Mobile, AL. A distinguished WW2 Marine, Sledgehammer served in Pelelui, Okinawa, and China. Sledgehammer recorded diary notes in his bible while deployed.

Why the documentary is titled Vietnam War? I have no idea. I enjoyed the film for the military history lesson

'Sledgehammer' was a Marine Private in WWII and is making an introduction to a Vietnam documentary?

'The Vietnam War' documentary by Ken Burns, 2017, was excellent.

Pirate Hunters (2011)

In the Gulf of Aden, four armed Somali pirates hijack the Maersk Alabama, an American freight ship. The four armed pirates then kidnapped freight ship Captain Richard Phillips and held him hostage in a lifeboat. SEAL snipers board the USS Bainbridge to coordinate a counterstrike. The leader of the armed pirates did willingly surrender to the USS Bainbridge. The remaining three armed pirates in the lifeboat were effectively shot and killed by the snipers. The documentary is better than the Hollywood movie

I have limited experience with the Bradley during my time in the Infantry - U.S. Army. I was light Infantry, so much of our movement was done on foot. Prior to long marches, we were dropped off by truck or Humvees. I think the Bradley is a good piece of equipment. The vehicle is very tight when fully loaded.

Here is an interview you might like -- good words of wisdom:

Loved the RAM/RS upgrade to our AAVs, which was the Bradley suspension and powerpack. You hardly had to cross steer and could yeet shit. 30% more power was a bonus.

The Bradley is a better fighting vehicle. The AAV is a better carrier.

Are you sure you're not thinking of the LAV?

Were you a crewman or a mech?
Neither. I did a good chunk of my non-ob IRR time with 4th Tracks H&S. When I got there, they sent me to Courthouse Bay to fill a slot as an 1142 (electrical engineer). All I had to look after was a single MEP003A generator. I got bored and OJT'ed on the ramp and in the bays.

Ranger School grads who never served in regiment are still eligible for Army Ranger license plates here in GA. Reminds me of awhile back on here when some dipshit made a thread claiming that was supposedly stolen valor.
