There's a really, really good chance they were released without bail because the vast majority of immigrants show up for their hearings. Look it up if you don't believe me.

Absolutely their hearing to stay and probably their trial for the crime.

Your country puts more of it's people in jail than any other country in the world. It's broken.

When a man beats his wife almost to death he should be arrested. If he is let out on bail, there is a great chance that he will go back and do it again. There are many cases where this has happened. A violent offender who is a danger to society need to be held until trial. When there is video evidence and or witness testimony including that of law enforcement it should not even be a question. If you assault a cop you are a danger and need to be held. Bragg lets out violent offenders with no bail and the amount that commit crimes while out are huge, there are articles everywhere.

43% of people in NYC let out with no bail were re-arrested before trial date. I don't care about turnstyle jumpers...But violent offenders? Repeat offenders? Those with previous criminal records? They go and kill someone that is the sytems fault.


This guy was let out with no bail after beating his wife. He was previously arrested for kidnapping and beating an ex. The liberal asshat system let him out with no bail. He gets out and kills his wife in front of their 3 kids less than 24hrs later. This guy should never have been let out.

Venezuelan Migrant worked with a group of other migrants stealing credit cards, and shoplifting from stores. In Times Square a Security guard approached them and one kid pulled out a gun and fired. He hit a bystander female in the leg and fled. As he fled he shot at cops and escaped into the subway. My buddy and his team got him in Yonkers at relative's house. He was crying and the family was screaming "Don't take him!". His room was filled with stolen high end clothing and footwear. He was wearing high end stuff and a gold chain.

Odds on him getting released into the custody of his parents are high. But maybe with what happened before they keep him locked up. Then we go to if he will be charged as an adult, which he should be.

Those are two entirely different issues; if someone poses a danger there isn't meant to be any option for release. They should be held on remand and that's the judge's call.

Bail itself is only meant to serve to ensure presence at trial. It is only meant to be high if that would diminish flight risk.

Does the article you linked state that the study they're using is their own and it isn't peer reviewed? Do you have more evidence?

I Live in NY.....The issue is they ARE being released by a horrible liberal DA. Those Migrants that beat the cops were out almost right away. A violent offense. These guys would not be able to post even small bail amounts, so no bail puts us at risk. If the no bail really worked the state wouldn't have had to offer free sports tickets to show up for court appearances.

There are plenty of sources showing how Bail Reform and no bail is dangerous and is failing. Depending on the source most agree that it is a failure for violent or felony offenders. Liberal sources clam victory because of less prison populations. My two buddies are Brooklyn Warrants cops who spend half their time now on warrants issued for missed court appearances. They said since the bail reform, they would need 1000 cops to handle the workload that 15 do. So many just do not show up back to court. They do end up back there, as 41% are re-arrested. But the misdemeanor offenses get let back go.

I don't have much to say about this issue, or even New York.

I stand by my comment on the purpose of bail, and if people aren't making their appearances clearly the amount isn't enough. I don't really no enough about "no bail" to comment but I can imagine it's problematic, especially if you're right about the results.
