Social Butterbean - Have you guys seen him lately?!

JR hated Bart for derailing his buddy Dr Death.

I really respect JR, but I will never see the logic behind the push he wanted for 'Dr Death' in Summer of 1998.... when Austin was on fire and finally get back the ratings lead of the Monday Night Wars.

I was wrong. Bart Gunn wasn't the least marketable wrestler on the roster.

Yeah I don't get it either. 12 year old me had no idea who the fuck he was I just wanted to see DX, Austin, and the Rock.

And Undertaker.
Kane.
Mankind.
Godfather & the hoes
Val Venus

I get that talent doesn't arrive to the WWF with the 'IT factor' and it has to be developed - Just look at Steve Austin's stint as 'The Ringmaster' and imagine someone saying in 1995 he's going to be WWE's biggest draw if the 90s & 2000s - but I don't see any potential for 'Dr. Death' (horrible name) to ever had a chance of developing the 'IT factor' in either style or ability to compare to the rest of the roster of the next few years of that era.

The fact we never got tank vs butter bean blows my fucking mind. With how many shitty MMA promotions there were in the 2000's...it should have happened. Or Japan, they love freak show fights.

I had never considered this, but you're absolutely right. What the hell?

Now see, if you said "liver punch someone", I'd feel like we were kindred spirits.

This video depresses me. The champs of my youth look old.
Because they are.

I've been thinking about what it'll be like showing my son Mark Hunt Vs Rey Sefo. My son's 9, it'll be soon. To him it'll look like the black and white stuff I saw as a kid. It was a long time ago!

He was a decent wrestler who had a reputation in Japan. He was just tough really. I think they wanted to sell his reputation as a tough guy to give Austin problems. Except Vince Russos
brilliant plan he talked McMahon into showcases how bad all of them were at actual boxing. Should have just had him feud with Mankind and Shamrock to show he was tough.

He was tough, with the physique of a powerlifter/wrestler.

If it was only his loss in the Brawl4All I doubt they would have cut him, but it was he wasn't a good fit for the rest of the roster to have feuds with... besides the facts he didn't have much of a gimmick, didn't sway the crowd, and had mediocre matches.

in the prime years of the Attitude Era, he was a throwback to the 80s.
