Indeed, the film was quite impressive. I enjoyed it a lot.
I owe another thank you to you, crow and others for the blade runner suggestion. I’m still blown away from how well that was done. It’s not even a “for it’s time” thing either. Some scenes are just great even if filmed today.
Better than 300?
Did the same director do 300 as Sin City? Like I know Frank Miller was the creator but wasn’t sure if he deserves the credit for back to back films being that great on film.

Blade Runner is a truly all-time great film.

Now, here's your next revelation (I sincerely hope), Play Misty for Me. I'd also recommend Dog Day Afternoon. There was something about films of the 70's and early 80's that had a certain fine gritty and sort of dirty feel that digital recording doesn't reproduce, I think. Consider Fort Apache, the Bronx, from around the same time as Blade Runner, and TV shows like Police Story, Streets of San Francisco, and later, Hill Street Blues.

Have fun, young'un :)

I’m surprised Sin City’s style didn’t get used in future movies.
It actually did, and it killed it real fast. Remember "The Spirit"? Yeah, they gave Frank Miller directorial duties, and that was the end of that. Even the sequel to "Sin City" was kinda shit. The original caught lighting in a bottle, and had all the right pieces in place. I think those overly stylish flicks, have very limited influence. Just look at "300". Is any movie really aping that style? You had the series "Spartacus" which was heavily influenced by it, but that's about it.

Those flicks are so defined by their style, that it's hard to implement it anywhere else.

Your back is a lier.

Just pack an inflatable sleeping matt.
Too noisy imo. But going to buy a 4" pad in the near future. That's as much as I glamp

My father's idea of roughing it was that there was no cable for the TV in the trailer. <Lmaoo>

But then, he did his time following WW2 flying all over the northern hemisphere for the armed forces. I don't think those planes were even as comfortable as an Air Canada flight :p

Nah. Zack Snyder did "300", and Robert Rodriguez did "Sin City".
I should’ve guessed Snyder did 300. I feel like him doing DC has been a waste of his talent.

Well done on the crow bud. Great film and outstanding soundtrack
Yeah, I still have some of those tracks and bands on rotation. Colour Me Once by the Violent Femmes still holds up well, and it tuned me in to My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, even though After The Flesh isn't high on my list of favourites from them.
The Queen title track from Flash Gordon is an earworm as well.

I’m surprised Sin City’s style didn’t get used in future movies. I really liked some of the shots and it really was perfect for the film adaptation. I would think the technologies is 100x farther along to be able to pull it off easier and better.

We will get there eventually.

Sometimes I don't even bring a tent or sleeping bag. I loooooove camping.
I do to, but i need to be comfortable.
I used to have a full size chevy van with the full interior and 3 benches in the back. Was my work truck and daily driver in one. I'd remove the 2 back benches and would still have 7 feet remaining from the back of the van to the third bench. When we get to the campsite, take everything out the back of the van and I'd roll out the queen mattress and inflate it while it was in the van , the entire back would become 1 big bed. And the inflatable wasn't thin, about 16-18 inches in height, was as comfortable as sleeping at home. My kids used to love it, good times.
