Road House Remake Discussion Thread Starring Conor McGregor

I really enjoyed it & loved Conor's scenes. Hiz natural character is great for this kind of roll. I bet he'd kick ass in Predator as well.

Nothing groundbreaking with this Roadhouse story... & the first one was definitely better & more timeless, but this one was good fun.

Waz very cool seeing a brethren from our little corner of teh sports world show oop on a major release. I enjoy seeing MMA fighters even in lower budget movies, but this one had a real big screen feel to it. Very well done imo.

I saw a commercial for the movie and Jake was fighting 4 guys at once like he was Van Damme.
Didn’t see Conor tho
Deleted scenes show Conor in the bathroom snorting coke during that part.

Movie was pretty meh, but conor played conor turned up to 11, and I thought it was the most fun character in the movie.
This is coming from someone who gets sick satisfaction seeing Conor get bounced in his fights.
Yeah Conor was the most exciting thing about the movie, the rest of it was fucking boring and lame.

I can tell you exactly when i stopped watching it was at 4:20 when after letting a dude stab him, he says while the knife is inside him "are you sure you thought this all the way through" leading the guy to run off.

Now as stupid as it is to have someone be able to take a knife to the abdomen like it was a flu shot. What is bothering me more is apparently there is a psycho out there walking around who tries to murder every person that costs him a $500 bet.

So basically you stopped watching a movie cuz you thought of it as being unrealistic?

Shit film but I wouldn't have watched it if Conor wasn't in it anyway so I wasn't really expecting much.

His performance was a bit too cartoonish for me. He was like a coked up Irish terminator.

There's literally nothing woke about this movie lol. The bar owner's a black woman. Nothing about her being a black or a woman is forced into the actual story.

I never used the word "woke" you moron. I said the characters were totally different, which they were, not just the bar owner. I should have known some dumbass would get bent out of shape about my opinion.

You don't have to be gay to appreciate that movie, one of his best.
Another one he is really good in is End of watch,
The only reason anybody remembers Brokeback Mountain at all is cause it's gay and cause of how retarded the Oscars were that year.

It's like saying people give a shit about The Shape of Water which is remembered for those exact same reasons.

this is better than I thought it would do...

Want to see how much time "the stars" spent together,
how much research Conor did,
or the respect for his co-stars ... look no further:

5 minutes into the interview with Conor & Jake Gyllenhaal ...

Conor has no idea Jake made a film about being a fighter.
Talk about promotion.

Jake explained they are sitting in the gym where they filmed.
50 cent was in the movie... Conor still clueless about what Jake is saying.
Asks Jake.

Jake, bewildered, tells him the film name "Southpaw"

<WellThere>

He also says Jake made 75 movies and Conor has 75 bar fights.
Jake confused. This was never said prior, because Jake has 45 movies.
Jake looks bewildered at the bold face lie that "they joke".

Little insider trades:
(worked in the industry doing various rigging & medical work)
Heard Conor was a nightmare to work with about a year ago. Now that the film is out, the stories will slowly trickle out. Already heard some gold. Jake couldn't stand him. Crew couldn't stand him. Talked over people constantly. There is so much gold it is not even worth mentioning here. It will come out in time.

If you aren't sure if you want to actually watch the new Road House, maybe watching Tommy Toe Hold as Nick Diaz describing the entire movie will save you 2 hours.

Or whatever man.
